I am just looking for some thoughts and guidance. Until 1 month ago, I worked full time and my kids went to daycare. I quit my job to stay home and since then have been a bit alarmed by my 22 month olds poop. My daycare providor always said it was weird but since she was a daytime pooper, I would often go a week and only change one diaper.
Anyways, she was pooping 4-8 times per day and it would be like water, pale yellow and had a horrible acidic smell. I Dr. Googled and saw that could be a symptom of a dairy issues. We took her off all obvious dairy and it cleared up--within a day she was pooping normal brown stool. Then we tried Goats milk and initially, it seemed to not bother her but after a week it started again. So, for 3 weeks she has been of all obvious dairy. The horrible smell got better but she was still having very liquidy poops, at least 2 per day.
Then, we removed all obvious soy from her diet (had been giving her Earth Balence, Soy cheese, etc) and again, it got better for about 3 days and then got bad again. This weekend, each day she has had 4 horribly, liquid, poops. One of them being straigh mucus.
She wakes at least 3 times per night, has night terrors several nights per week and I am just seriously thinking she is in pain. She is getting teeth right now but these weird poops have been going on a long, long time. Months. Years? Anyways, I am going to get her into the Dr. this week for a lab test on obvious allergens but does anyone have any ideas on what this could be? Also, what I can expect from the Dr? Also, do sensitivites show up in tests or only pure allergies?
Thank you in advance for your help.
