Need serious baby name HELP!!!

Thread Starter

Alright ladies, I'm calling all your creative juices to my rescue.  My baby boy is 5 days old, and we still don't have a name for him.  Honestly.  I feel like I can't even make an official announcement until I have a name.  I've even had newborn photos done already, but don't want to post them until I have a name!!!  So, I need some of your creativeness, okay?!?!

If HE had been a SHE, she would have been Edythe Soleil.  Edythe was my grandma's name, and Soleil for my husbands French side. I need to use at least one family name, which will probably be either Thomas or Booth.  Thomas is a contender for first name, Booth for middle, if Thomas doesn't go.  My other sons are Elliot (Eli) Max and Silas Jerimiah.  Last name: Wiebe - (sounds like Weeb.)

Here's our list so far:

Asher Thomas

Thomas Booth

Atticus Booth

I have a big hang up with common names (being a Jenny, in the 80s) but would really be willing to take any and all suggestions right now.  I like Bible names, and names with meaning or history.

Ready, Set, GO!!

I like asher a lot. I was going to use that name then married a guy w a H last name that just doesn't work.  I also like less common names.

I like Asher too, and I love Booth! What about Asher Booth?

Other suggestions:

Reuben

Moses

Henry

Oh, and don't feel bad, my girl is 5 days old without a name. I was thinking of posting the same Help! thread.

I like Asher Thomas.

"*Blank* Booth Wiebe" doesn't roll right too me. But that's just me shy.gif

I also really like Asher, it was on my boy's name list for a little while, until DH vetoed it.  I think it goes with either middle name.

I met someone the other day who had a little boy named Ephesus (biblical) and I love it! She told me the meaning which was powerful, but I can't remember now. orngtongue.gif

Other biblical names I love are Titus, Malachi, Ezra, Jude, Samson and Solomon.

I like Atticus Booth Wiebe. I think Atty is cute for short smile.gif

I'll second Asher Thomas--nice and strong and goes well with your last name. I was always fond of Thaddeus, too--the most forgotten disciple! Knew an awesome one in college...Can't wait to hear what you decide on for your little guy!

I don't like Asher Booth- it sounds like a poorly written character in a bar.  :)  ashes and booths.  I do like Asher Thomas, however.

What about Ashton?

Atticus Thomas is my favorite on your list.  We might use Atticus too, but were planning on using Tice (a Danish name, but for us, a family name) as a nn for it.  I mention that because Eli and Silas both have that long "i" in them, and it seems a little "odd man out" to have a third boy with no connection to the other two names.  But I'm big on uniformity that way.

So... long "i" names that might fit the bill:

Malachi

Obadiah

Adlai

Levi (love this with Eli and Silas)

Micah

Simon

Ezekial (no long "i" but love Zeke with Eli and Silas)

Matthias

Tobiah/Tobias

I think Thomas or Booth could work well with all of these as middle names.

My personal favorite of all of these is probably

Eliot Max

Silas Jeremiah

and

Malachi Thomas

or

Eli, Silas, and Chi

But I like Levi Booth a lot too...

I am obviously a fan of Malachi :)

Oh my goodness, such good suggestions. I'm not sure why I'm having such trouble this time around.  Heaven forbid I have more boys, I will never name them!

Of course, DH came home last night decided that he likes Atticus the best now... and I'm not sure. He changes his mind every day, so we will see what it is tonight. I went and bought a baby name book yesterday, so I will spend the day looking.  I love all your suggestions, and am not sure if this has made it easier or harder. Tice is a great nn for Atticus.  Ahhh!

jenny, do your older boys have an opinion? Maybe if you and your DH picked out your top choices and they got to choose? I bet they'd be SO proud to be the ones to name their new baby brother! Obviously you don't want to let them name him anything (Cheeseburger Wiebe!) but if you and your husband are down to a couple and not sure which to go with it might be a good solution?

Ok, major off topic hijack here, but has anyone seen the movie, the Birdcage? Atticus reminds me of that character, the guy-maid or whoever.  I love the scene when the guys can't give the future in laws a straight name for him, and come up with "Atticus Spartacus." lol

Anyways, sorry! Moving on...

I like it! I like Atticus and LOVE Tice as a nickname!

Asher Thomas sounds good with the other boys' names and your last name I think. :) Good luck!!

I think Asher (with either Thomas or Booth) goes well with your other boys' names, but Atticus is an old favorite of mine.

I love Atticus!!!

My best friend has a son named Atticus Jack Louis (then the last name). He is an awesome little boy and I love the name. We call him Atti for short, which I find adorable.

I do love the name Asher Booth, that's definitely a rock star name IMO. winky.gif

Did I miss it?  What'd you name your little guy?  :)
