As much as I'd love to no longer be pregnant, I've got quite a bit of work to do this week so I guess I should just be glad I've got no labor signs whatsoever.

In the mean time, I found a website with some interesting statistics. A pregnant nerdy lady surveyed about 2000 people as to when they gave birth, how old they were, etc.

Those are some great stats! How about this chart showing second time moms went the longest:

Not exactly the news I want, but I love having my assumptions challenged!

I just checked my cervix, and it feels very soft.  Very soft.  Somewhat open, maybe about 2 or 3cm?  And I think I got a little bit of mucus plug.  Not 100% sure on that one though.

I have always (pregnant or not) had heavy discharge...so it may be different for me. But I can always tell what is the plug because to me it looks kind of like a little clump of flesh with a tiny tinge of blood. Yes boogers is another way to describe it, but I think many woman can experience that type of thing without losing the plug.

With my first I never even knew about it...so I didn't look. With my second, third and fourth, I knew to look for it and it always told me delivery was less than 24 hrs away.

TMI alert!!!!!! My midwife removed my mucus plug with my first and I saw it on her gloved fingers! I won't forget that imagebigeyes.gif. Then she pulled my cervix forward a bit and then I had two or three stretch and sweeps over the next couple of days and she kept getting me to 3cm's then I would close back up. My body did not want to go into labour with my first! Then I did 12 hours of blue cohosh drops every 15 minutes and I drank a bottle of castor oil. Then my water broke and STILL nothing happened. I don't know why I just shared all that but because I had a scheduled "c" the next time and same thing this time, that was my only experience with early labour signs or in my case, lack thereof. My section is scheduled for May 2 and that will put me at 38 weeks and 2 days but my mother is convinced that I will go into labour before that. She had a dream and she is insisting that it will come true! I have NO signs. I am as dry as a bone down there and my BH have even disappeared. I am however VERY grumpy and very tired. I would love to go into labour just once so I know what people are talking about but at this point, I still have a lot to do so I might as well wait it out. I love reading about all of you though!

something that I kind of find funny...but yet is somewhat TMI..lol....today while going potty (of course each time I do I check to see if I lost my plug) and while wiping I saw some discharge with a little red on it....but it didn't look like my normal ....well after a moment of thought I looked down at my undies......then laughed and realized it was lint from my RED undies...lol
I don't think I will wear red undies anymore..lol...not until after baby is born anyway!

Baby has been very active lately and it kind of makes me think it is trying to break my water (like in some of my previous pregnancies).
So I think I am going to start being a home body now..lol.

We are getting things much closer to being ready. I still have things that I would *like* to get done but I think the most important things are done. =S

I lost at least part of my mucus plug today! DP keeps telling me that can happen a whole month early but im hopeful it means baby time is closeish!

Today has been a weird kind of day. I started having contractions, but they haven't let up. They're about 8 minutes apart right now, but not super duper strong. So we're just biding our time and waiting to see.

Meanwhile, it got DH in gear and he cleaned our room, rearranged all of the furniture and set up the crib! Woot!

Awesome ladies.

Even if it isn't *the day* your body is definitely gearing up and thats awesome :)

Three days ago I was having contrax all day about 5 minutes apart and lasting about 20-30 seconds. Ever since I have been having contractions off and on - not terribly regular sometimes with some pressure. No plug or show or anything like that.

May 1st or May 7th whichever 'due date' it is; is super close. Ofcourse I have tried to tell myself I may be pregnant until May 22nd and I will just have to accept that (my last babe was 15 days over the second due date. eek)

I cleaned out the mom van some today, and washed all the newborn baby clothes and dried and fold and put them in a plastic mattress zip bag. DH got the pool aired up and liner placed on. Every thing is ready just in case.

Baby has not been very active lately. In  fact this morning I woke up at about 530 a little concerned cause I hadn't felt her move at all during the night. Panic started to grip me (came out of no where) but I ate some food and laid back down and she moved. I vaguely remember babes getting really lazy before labor.

Tonight is a "Just Because" party for the kids. We are taking them to the coast for pizza and ice cream and when we come home we have some presents for them. We don't do Christmas or commercialized Hanukkah or any of the huge gift giving holidays - we do try to have "Just Because" parties where we celebrate different accomplishments they've had.

Mostly they are getting all of their art supplies restocked, face crayons, a few littlest pet shop toys (they are all crazy about LPS) and just a good time. I have been collecting presents for a bit so I am giddy with anticipation for them. and ofcourse they are all super excited :)

With the contractions being the way they have been, I figured I may as well throw the party now rather then wait another week!

something's going on with me, but it's hard to tell what it means. I'm getting a lot of contractions (painless so far, but kind of intense - they make me gasp) and they're feel like they're moving up rather than being diffuse. it might be nothing at all or it might be something. we're painting our bedroom today, so I'm just going to continue but not push myself too hard and see where this goes. I'm still about 10 days out from my EDD.

So many of you seem like you are *super close* to having your babes! So exciting!!

I have absolutely no signs of labor approaching. Very few Braxton hicks, haven't lost my mucous plug, baby seems a little lower but at the same time I feel like he is in my lungs and I am short of breath. My EDD is May 8 but I can see this baby boy taking his sweet time to arrive!

wow.....today is definitely a day of action around the boards!  Is it s moon change or something? lol

Sooooooo interesting turn of events.......perhaps I was wrong about my previous post..............cuz ummmmm.....just went potty and think I lost it this time. While wiping a huge mucus like chuck was there....WAY more than normal and thick (about the length and width of my pinky). But the strange thing is that it was nothing like previous pregnancies and it wasn't blood tinged at all! I have been feeling a lot of pressure from the baby being so low. So I am thinking it may be close! If my record stands the same (which who knows cuz apparently things can be drastically different...lol) then this baby would be born in less than 24 hrs! I have been feeling a little something in my back...not pain or anything but a tension and of course the baby is pushing around in there like crazy.
I just told dh to get the pool at least aired up...might not fill it yet (I don't want to have a repeat of last time).
I will keep you guys posted! I am trying my best not to get nervous! =S

Sounds promising!  :D  I Googled "mucus plug" the other day and got some interesting images.  lol  A lot of them didn't have blood at all, so it's entirely possible that that's what it was!  :D

Good luck!  Keep us updated!

Thanks! Yeah I think it will be super soon! We aired up the pool (it is HUGE by the way.....should have picked a smaller one...but wanted the depth!!). We are just deciding if we should start to fill it or not. A part of me says yes and a part of me says no. =S
The pool is so big that I kind of would like to get a head start....but hate to get it half filled and it sit for more than a day or two and then us have to empty and clean the slime out (like last time).
So I will play it by ear! I plan to take it easy tonight. If baby is as active tonight as in the last few nights....not sure how I can keep baby from breaking my water! Not that I am against it...just it is seems to be happening so fast! Although I was pretty certain that I wouldn't make my due date......I just am surprised it may happen so soon!
Thankfully no real contrax!

Any updates BlessedOne? Sounds like you are really really close!

blessedone!!! how exciting!

Thanks ladies! Still playing the waiting game =S

I can tell baby is so very low. It has been a little less active today. My water still hasn't broke and haven't really had much of any contrax. I have had the occasional tightening, but nothing constant.

I decided to put at least a little water in the pool daily until it is time and then fill it up the rest of the way. That way the water is at least moved a bit daily and hopefully that will help it from getting stagnent. I wonder if putting salt in the water would help? I thought about a little bleach...but that doesn't seem healthy to birth in. 0_o

I will keep you all posted! =)

My mucus plug is continuing to fall out and is now lOoking thicker, bigger and yellow/golden in color. I'm feel a lot of pressure in my back and some on my cervix. I'm having really random contractions and none of them hurt but the baby has taken to pushing on me duri g them.

I have no idea if this is labor or not. I told dp to stay at work...
