Headaches?

Anyone else getting headaches? I didn't get enough sleep last night and I've had a headache all day! Can't seem to shake it. It subsided after lunch, but then it came right back. A quick google said its normal in the first trimester and my BP is normal. It just hurts and I'm longing for Advil!

I do get headaches, but I find that if I can steal even 10 minutes to lay down, and 2 giant glasses of water, then it gets a little better. The dr says I can take tylenol, but I don' wanna. maybe, like, third tri. This baby is still developing. . . .

Ive been getting headaches too. Not every day but more often than normal. Sometimes it's when I get a bit dry but not always.

I don't like taking paracetamol either, not with the possible link to asthma.

I will have to look for these!

I think it was a messed up sleep schedule that led to a messed up eating schedule. I took a long nap but it still didn't go away until I got a full night's sleep. Thankfully it hasn't returned, but I can feel it threatening occasionally.

I've been getting headaches, too, I think it's allergy related? I have taken Tylenol twice - is it really not good for the baby? I hate taking meds but I couldn't function without it at the time. I'll look into the two things asteph mentioned.

I don't know that it's not good for the baby. . . .but I just don't want to take that chance, you know? I totally get that sometimes momma hurts, though.

There has been some research which indicated a link between taking pAracetamol during pregnancy and the child developing asthma. No info yet on how much is a problem or whether it matters which trimester. I'm sorry, I'm on my phone so I can't link studies but if you google paracetamol + pregnancy + asthma you should find it.

It is still the pain killer of choice for mild/moderate pain during pregnancy. I try to avoid it but if I needed it to function then I would take it.

Thank you! I read a few articles and while it's not conclusive, there's enough evidence to keep me away from Tylenol for the remainder of my pregnancy! I prefer Advil (when not pregnant) anyway, always hated Tylenol for some reason. Thanks for your input, everyone!

I have been getting a lot of headaches too, but did in the first tri of my second baby too. I even had a migraine the other day. I actually got rid of it with a weak cup of english breakfast tea(this was after 12 hours of being in bed, in the dark). It was completely gone a half hour after drinking it.

I also think it has to do with the pollen. I am about 45 minutes from Baltimore, so probably close to the same weather/plant zone and have definitely been feeling the sinuses. And I'm not one to usually suffer from allergies. Hopefully this rain will help!

something I learned last pregnancy is that allergies can be worsened or crop up because of pregnancy hormones. I've been getting headaches if I cheat at all on wheat or eggs (both of which I'm allergic to). I also get headaches if I didn't sleep well or haven't been eating well or drinking enough water.

Interesting! I normally don't get spring (tree pollen) allergies--if anything I seem to be more sensitive to late spring/early summer grass pollen. But this year has been another story. Whew. It doesn't help that the pollen count was SO high here in the Mid-Atlantic during our warm, dry spell (that thankfully just ended)! I just felt like I was sneezing constantly and my nose itched something awful. I wondered if pregnancy had something to do with it too.
