Heard the heartbeat! « Back to Group Discussions

Intellectually, I knew everything was ok, but hearing the HB at today's midwife appointment just made my day. I just couldn't stop smiling:-).

And all of a sudden, I feel like it's ok to switch to maternity pants (which I really need to do) and perhaps, maybe start telling select people. It's only me, DH and my doctor, midwife and dentist know know, besides all you nice internet folks.

I haven't had and won't have any u/s, unless there is a medical need, so today's chance to hear the HB was special.

so happy for you!  I agree, it is a very special moment.  Things definitely felt more sure and certain for me, too, after I heard the heartbeat.

were they able to tell you the bpm? or you just heard the heart beat. didnt kick in for me that i really was pregnant till i heard the heart beat too :)

It was 140 bpm. It's been so long since I did this last time (2002/2003!) that I couldn't remember if that was low, high, normal, so of course I asked.
