Better than telling them to give Tylenol!
The 5 "Ss" don't help when the post-vaccine response is seizures/encephalopathy...
I wasn't even allowed to talk to the pediatrician when my kid was having seizures. The nurse thought I was just an overly protective, hysterical mumsie who couldn't bear to hear her child "fuss a little;" she said, "vaccines don't DO that!", refused to let me talk to the doctor, and told me that I would be turned away if I tried to bring my child in. She then told me to lay my baby (who had been screeching like some kind of animal--I can't even describe it--and arching/flailing for 3 HOURS, starting 1 hour after the shots) in his crib, and walk away until I could control myself.
I believe she lost her job due to the way she treated me.
I hope she did. That's just awful!
I had to talk to the school district nurse recently when registering my daughter for preschool, because I am filing a philosophical exemption. I'm not sure how it's even legal to make me explain my philosophical reasons, but I am sure that it's a bullying tactic. Anyway, I said that my children have had reactions to shots, and she said "Like mild fever and fussiness?" I had to stop her short and say "NO, these were more serious than that, and my pediatrician supports and encourages my decision to not vaccinate further."
I wish I knew years ago what I know now, but hindsight is always 20/20. I just wish it wasn't my kids that had to pay the price.
