Moving at 38 weeks?

Holy crap! We're putting an offer on a house, and will hopefully be moving soon. The trouble is, I'll likely be 38 weeks along then, or even a week or two later! I'm so excited and happy about this move. But what if I start into labor during/right after the move? That would be so hectic...but this will be my first baby, and first ones are often "late", right? Ahh, I'm so excited, but so nervous! Just needed to share. :)

Congrats! We are in the process of selling our apartment and hopefully moving to a house in June. But we are thinking of doing it a sometime after the birth most likely. I've talked to different people and they are split between which is "easier," moving before or after. I just have more help from family after the birth so that's why I'm going with that! Good luck!!

Congratulations! I wouldn't worry about labor starting until you are settled in. The excitement of moving will likely be enough to keep anything from starting until you are ready. Good luck with the offer!

I'll be right there with you!

We close June 1st and babe's due June 15th. It will be hard to not be able to just "give'r" and pack and lug and move and paint. I really will have to step back and let people help....a lot...

Good Luck, mama!

Awesome. Congrats!

I hope you will have a lot of support and help. Make sure to not push yourself!

I'd suggest that the first thing you do in the new place is to create your nest for you and the baby. Make sure it's comfortable for rest and nursing. It will truly give meaning to the term nesting. The rest will fall into place. It just might take a little longer. smile.gif

Congrats! I hope your offer gets accepted.

We are moving house on tuesday (I'll be 32 weeks with our first) ~ I plan on taking it slow (and we hired movers) and just enjoying the new place. Everyone thinks I must be so stressed but I am just really happy that we found our home. That is a great relief to me ~ enjoy the changes as you move! I know so many women who are moving or have moved while pregnant. I think we carry that energy along with us to just make things happen. I plan to accept help, delegate, and clearly speak up for what I need/want during the move/resettling. I'm looking forward to not having to help much physically, in fact. :) Have fun!!

Offer got accepted!! We'll be moving on Memorial Day Weekend. Eee! So happy about this. And relieved that we got the house we want.

The move should be fairly easy. My duties will be pretty light; just have to get the cats settled in a spare bedroom, and then keep the dogs entertained in the backyard while DH & a coworker do all of the unloading boxes and furniture. :)

One nice thing about the move is that it's close by, and we don't have a deadline to be out of our current house by. DH's commute is an hour & 15 minutes each way from where we are now; we're moving to a house that's only 20 min from his office. We own the current house (no mortgage), and we'll be listing it for sale after we move out. So no pressure, and it's only a 40-50 min drive from the old house to the new one. Nice!

That sounds amazing!! Congrats. :) You sound so happy ~ it makes a difference to not be rushed to move as well.

I'm in charge of the cat and dogs too ~ it's rather nice, moving when pregnant, no? So little to do, so much to enjoy.
