Another milestone for me today, I am 12 weeks. Here's hoping it lives up to its reputation.

Anyone else left the first trimester behind?

I'll be 12 weeks on Saturday. seems like it's come so fast, but I haven't had many bad symptoms this time around.

Is 12 weeks 2nd trimester?  I'm 12 weeks 2 days now...the last few weeks have gone by quickly, maybe because I'm not feeling so horrible.

I have had a surge of energy the past week or so, and I am 11 weeks tomorrow. I never know what the trimesters are!

I'm not considering myself in the second trimester until about 14 weeks. That's when my doctor says the risk of miscarriage goes down, though I was under the impression that it was a little sooner than that. Anyway, I will be 12 weeks tomorrow, and that feels like a milestone to me!

Yep, 12 weeks is the start of the second trimester. Glad you're starting to feel better :-)

yay! count me in. just had my first U/S and everything looked perfect :) measurements put me at exactly 12+0 today.

12 weeks tomorrow.  I'm not counting it as "second trimester" for me until 13 weeks just because of my previous loss. I'm hoping mentally that will help me.  BUT - I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow (my 12 week day) and will be back the day before I turn 13 weeks, so I'm hoping it will be like I'm just pushing pause somehow and when I come back I'll magically be in my 2nd trimester lol.  Yes, I know I'm weird.

Krystal1220 - the risk does go down SIGNIFICANTLY before then.  Each week the risk goes down exponentially. By the time you hit 12 weeks it is almost less than 1%.  By the time  you hit 14 weeks, it is almost 0% chance.  We all know that anything can happen of course, but the chances are SOOO much better the further along you get.  I totally understand waiting to consider yourself "second trimester" - I'm doing the same thing.

That's reassuring. I have my NT ultrasound tomorrow, and I will feel a lot better and more confident after that, if everything looks good!

I am at 13 weeks and can't wait for that 14 - (when I consider it 2nd trimester, because at the point, the baby is 12 weeks).  I also have my NT u/s tomorrow and am excited/nervous.

Starting to feel a little less queasy and a bit more energy the past couple of days.... hooray for 2nd trimester right around the corner!!!!

I'm 13 weeks today!! i'm loving the second trimester! my nausea is sooooooo much better!!!! now i can focus on my fatigue! :P

I'm 12 weeks tomorrow!! (Or is it 12 weeks on Friday?) I've still got a couple more weeks to go before I feel better though. Soooo very glad the risk of loosing this little one has gone down so much. 1 trimester is always the scariest and hardest for me so I'm glad to see it ending happily.

I think that now that so many of us are close to or already in the 2nd trimester, we should start a belly thread!  I love belly photos.  I will take a picture tonight and start that, unless someone else wants to.

That sounds awesome! I am 12 weeks today, and ready to start taking a weekly belly pic. Will you start the Belly Pic thread?
