Insurance granted my appeal and is covering my HB MW as an in network provider, which means 100% :)

Good for you!  What a relief.

I had the same thing happen.  I still have to pay a good amt OOP, but that's just the rules of my plan.  I'm just glad I don't have to meet that scary out of network deductible!

Woohoo!!!!  I got that with my last birth - homebirth -and it was awesome!  I paid 2 co-pays and that was it!

the funny thing is - I used the same midwife for LO2 and have the same insurance policy, and yet I still had to go through this little dance.  Whatever, I'm just glad to have it covered.  We still have some OOP expenses but otherwise, we're good!

We have United Health Care and live in New York State, where HB insurance coverage is required by law :)

Wow, that is amazing!!!  I'm just about to find out what will be covered by insurance for this homebirth.  Or 2nd birth/1st HB we paid half cash, did half bartering, in Minnesota.  We are in Wisconsin now, and they will bill to insurance, but out of network.  We just have to figure out if the out of pocket is more or less than paying cash up front.  Congrats to you!!
