Congrats Rozzie! Another 9lb-er as well :)

Yay new babies!  It's interesting that we'll go a few days with no action and then all of a sudden there are new babies everywhere!

I had 9 hours of what I'd call labor, which was preceded by a week of early labor.  I was able to deliver at the birth center, which was an answer to many prayers.  It was really as perfect as possible, and looking back I must say that I truly enjoyed my labor and birth!

Congrats!!  LOVE the name.  love.gif

What a gorgeous name! Both were on my short list for girl names, love the combination. Congrats on a wonderful birth and the new baby!

My water broke at noon, about 10 minutes after I called the mdwife to say "no rush at all, but things are starting to pick up." There was lots of meconium, so we told the midwife to come fast. I started pushing about 10 minutes before both midwives arrived. Heart tones were good at first, then dropped dramatically just before he crowned and I was told he needed to come out NOW. Si I pushed like a maniac and the midwife pushed back on my perinium and pulled once his head was out...he was born alert, pinking up great, and absolutely covered in mec.
We're both doing great. I had a small tear, three stitches, and Everett is nursing great and strong and healthy. 9 lbs 2 oz, posterior. The midwife said his position and rotating during crowning was putting a lot of compression on him and the cord, and that's what caused the drop in heartrate. Not an ideal birth and my throat still hurts from yelling (hurt way more than the other two! Holy moley) but I'm doing well- resting in bed with a baby on my chest smile.gif

pushing like that... ouch!  I had a 9lb2oz posterior baby too!

Congrats everyone!  I want to see pics!!!!!

Congrats all! My big boy - Kai Gabriel was born at 11:48 pm on 5/14 after 3.5 hours of active labor... Wow. I want to write up a birth story but it's hard from my phone in the hospital. All in all, an awesome and empowering birth - and really intense.

Can't wait to go home tomorrow ... The recovery part of the hospital birth is so exhausting!

Congrats Rozzie and all that have had their babies!  I am finally emerging a bit from the first days of exhaustion and fog.  I love reading all your birth stories and seeing the cute pics.  So many babies are here now!

I'm another 5/14 birth!  Amelia Ondine was born at 9:34am weighing 9lbs 1oz, 21.5" long.  I had a pretty crazy birth (like so many others!) that included doing ALL my hard labor in the car.  Amelia was born just minutes after I got to the hospital.  We're home and doing great! I agree, Rozzie, recovery at the hospital can hardly be called recovery...  a random nurse I've never met barging into our room at 5am to draw my blood when I'm nursing an hours-old baby who's just come off an hour-long crying jag due to tummy gas and is finally almost asleep.  Uggggh, so restful.  ha ha

Congrats to all the new mamas from the last days! I am especially swooning with a little envy over all the beautiful girl names that those of you with new daughters picked out.

Patrick Morgan D. was born on May 16th 2012, at 9:15pm. He was 8lbs 11 oz and 22inches long.

He is absolutely gorgeous!!!!

Right now he's in the NICU with some blood sugar, breathing rate and temperature issue, but has been feeding like a rock star, so he should be good to come home in just a few days!!!

He was born after only 45 minutes of pushing, and over well over 24 hours of labor. (I got stuck in transition for almost 7 hours... it was really not fun!!!) I have a second degree tear, and am resting nicely with these fun little happy pills they've given me to make it less hurty.

Later today I'm going to be getting an x-ray on my pelvis due to some severe leg and hip swelling that occurred during delivery.

Ladies, I can't believe he's really here!!! The super fun part is that he decided to come on his own! I didn't end up needing the induction, and despite begging and begging for an epidural, I delivered with only gas to get me through!!! I still can't believe I really did it!!!

Jynx! I am so happy for you!

And....I have a baby, too. Born early this am with an amazingly gentle labor. Baby girl...8lb, 3oz...20". smile.gif

Oh girl, in the car!?! I feel for you.  I had a few contractions on the way to our midwives and it seemed so awful.   Our oldest was in the van and in between contractions he said "Mom?  It's (the contx) kind of scaring me, but it's also entertaining me."  eyesroll.gif

Congrats to everyone! Baby Simon arrived at about 8pm on the 15th. He's 7lbs 10 oz and 21 inches - so long and skinny! Four hours of labor and a smooth birth at home in the pool. He's a crazy nurser and is sleeping in my arms right now. :)

Woo hoo!  So glad to hear he's here and healthy!!!   I hope you can get some good rest and recovery these next few days! Can't wait to see pictures of the little guy we thought we'd be meeting so much earlier!

Hurray Jynx and Ruby!

I get to add mine to the list too! Baby Girl (!!) was born this morning around 8am. She's 7lbs, 10 oz (same as yours ruby!) and 20.5".

I'll try to get around to typing up a birth story soon but suffice it to say - we managed to have the lowest intervention birth of any of our kids, despite all the bad news yesterday. No induction needed. smile.gifjoy.gif

she's amazing and I am so hopelessly over the moon for her. She nurses like a champ (and has a latch like a vice grip!) and she's super alert and content.
Cannot believe I had a baby this morning!
