Natural shower cleaner?

Thread Starter

Hi all,

I am looking for a natural cleaner that will remove mold/mildew stains from shower tiles.  We moved into a home and it looks as though the people rarely cleaned.  I saw that using hydrogen peroxide can help but it did not do a whole lot.  I have two kiddoes and I really want to make sure it is good and clean.  Thanks in advance :)

Have you tried scrubbing with baking soda and then using a spray bottle with a water/white vinegar mixture to rinse, then rinsing with more water and drying?  A good scrub with B/S and a brush should hopefully do the trick!  Maybe add a few drops of tea trea oil to the water/vinegar rinse as well as tea tree oil kills mold/mildew.

Good luck!

We had the same issue in our new (but old) home.  Borax did a great job with the mold.  Bar Keeper's Friend (cheap from Home Depot, an oxalic acid product) then put the REAL clean on!  I use clove essential oil as well to deter mold in our damp climate.

You could try a dawn dishsoap and vinegar mix.
