Hey guys! I know there are a lot of third/surprise sibling babies in this DDC, but I was curious about who else is expecting their first child? We are excited about our first, and feeling like the weeks are ticking by soooo slowly! Who else in our December DDC is in the same boat? What are the biggest changes you've noticed so far?

We're expecting our first and so excited! I'm not sure what you mean by biggest changes. Other than pregnancy symptoms, not much has changed, except we spent a ton of money yesterday setting up a sewing room for me - so I can sew maternity and baby clothes. I'm very excited.
First timer here!
I guess my biggest changes are increased hunger, increased fatigue, and bigger boobs. I feel bloated and tear up more easily too.
I had a few days with morning sickness (inconsistently but occasionally during weeks 6 and 7) and dizzy spells at times prior to that (particularly weeks 4 and 5). Now (week 9) I'm feeling good. I felt good for most of week 8 until the night I took the prenatal vit with iron. I had been taking an iron free one and rotating between two kinds before that. But the iron one really hit me hard the next day. I felt terrible and had to bail on a work function.
The main change I'm worried about is my career and how my being pregnant and eventually needing to take a leave will effect it. Hopefully my work will be hospitable but I'm not taking for granted that they will.
My partner has been super supportive and he is as excited as I am to start a family. We've been married for nearly two years but together for nearly 10. In our division of domestic labor, he is the one who typically cooks so I am grateful that while I'm occasionally food averse and smell-sensitive he is handling the bulk of food prep. I have been baking more though which both of us enjoy!
First timer, me tooo! I am 6 weeks today and I know what you mean by time moving slowly :) All the years that I've imagined myself pregnant, I've only imagined the part with the big beautiful belly but there's lots of pregnant days BEFORE that!! I have one more week before we go for the first ultrasound. Super excited. We did IVF this time and transferred two embryos so we're really curious to see if there's one or two little sprouts in there :)
Changes: I have to be more careful about what I eat and drink so I don't get constipated, my breasts are more tender, my libido went on vacation this week, I'm more sleepy, I crave naps and pickles, and I haven't been pukey and the more I read, it would be kind of reassuring to have some of that! I have had some very mild nausea on and off the past few days but barely anything and it passes quickly.
Glad to have this first timers December Due Date thread. Thanks for starting it!
Good vibes to your bellies sisters~

This is our first baby as well. We've been trying for 5 years so we were so surprised and excited when I just suddenly got pregnant! I've had a scare already when I had a lot of bleeding last week, but everything is fine and baby is doing great. I've already had 4 ultrasounds because of that and I'm hoping the baby isn't bothered by them.
Initially, my symptoms were a lot of bloating and stretching in my belly and dizziness and lightheadedness. I did have terrible morning sickness for one week when I was about 6-7 weeks along, but now I am thankful to be feeling great because I need to keep it together for my job. I do feel queasy at times, but if I eat something or nibble on some ginger, it goes away.
That's so funny - I also always pictured pregnant me with a big ole belly and I didn't think about how long of a wait it is until all that starts to happen!

First one for us too
Exciting and scary and good! Biggest changes for me has been fatigue, very sore boobs, bloating/showing (already?!?!) and being very emotional.
We have just ticked over to 8 weeks today, and I am feeling the opposite- This is going so so fast!! I feel like we only found out last week! But it was really 5 weeks ago! How did that happen!
We had our first ultrasound the other day :) There is a little heartbeat there, so thats good.
But I am really having trouble believing/remembering that I am pregnant! Anyone else like this?? Haha i am feeling like a bad mumma already haha

First time for me! I'm about 9 weeks now, and I'm wearing a bella band every day because I cannot stand anything buttoned over my stomach. I finally just broke down and bought a couple of pairs of maternity pants and some loose tops.
I either feeling nauseated or SO HUNGRY all the time, or both. I swear my boobs grow a 1/2 cup size every week. I get choked up at the littlest things, and my fuse is shorter than usual, although most of it seems to be directed at my poor, patient DH. I'm also exhausted like I've never been before.
I think the time is ticking by so slowly during the work week when all I want to do is go home and sleep, but then I can't believe I'm already at 9 weeks. I definitely feel sick, and I know the babies are in there, but it still all feels so strange and surreal. I am super unproductive at work because I am obsessed with car seats at the moment, and I won't even need them for another 28 weeks (hopefully longer).
I'm also used to being really active, but I can barely walk to the bathroom without needing a break. I'm looking forward to this mystical second trimester energy burst!

I readily do think maternity pants/skirts etc might be ther answer. Just can not stand anything on my belly but shirts
Rabbit troop, that is my big worry too.
I'm a first timer as well, and other than the unrelenting nausea and exhaustion, worry about work is at the top of my list of concerns right now. People keep asking about nursery decor, car seats, etc, and I am having trouble thinking about anything other than telling my boss, haha.

My work got super crazy last week and was a bit of a distraction--definitely went through a few days of somewhat "forgetting" I was pregnant (except for the sore boobs, and having to pee every ten seconds). Still no morning sickness for me (tomorrow is 7 weeks), which I'm both happy & nervous about. Just counting down the days until my 9 week appointment when we (hopefully) will get to hear the heartbeat. I saw in the intro thread that someone had a miscarriage at 8.5 weeks, which of course made me super nervous again. I've been doing pretty well, especially with no spotting, etc, but it's still so nerv-wracking hearing about other people.
This is baby number one for us, also!
I don't feel that too much has changed pregnancy-wise. I'm struggling with the combined feelings of being queasy and hungry, but that's only been happening a couple weeks, and I just keep telling myself that it should go away by second trimester (I'm 10 weeks this Wednesday).
There are a lot of other changes in our personal lives for DH and me and those are exciting. DH got a new job, so we're moving again, but this time a lot closer to both our hometowns. It'll be so nice to have our families and friends nearby when this baby comes in December! I'm applying for jobs, while at the same time struggling with trying to make the decision of whether I want to work full-time, part-time or stay at home once the baby comes. I always thought I'd be a SAHM when the time came, but now I'm seriously worrying that that might not be the best decision. Now I'm leaning toward getting the best full-time job I can find and then trying to switch to part-time after maternity leave. Anyone else struggling with this?

The main change I'm worried about is my career and how my being pregnant and eventually needing to take a leave will effect it. Hopefully my work will be hospitable but I'm not taking for granted that they will.
My partner has been super supportive and he is as excited as I am to start a family. We've been married for nearly two years but together for nearly 10. Looks like we have a lot of relationship similarities! DH and I have also been married about two years, but will have been together for 10 years by fall 2013. We've been looking forward to having children one day for what seems like the entire time we've been a couple, so we couldn't be more excited about this little one on the way.
I'm also dealing with worries about my career. DH and I move a lot because of his job, so that's already been a hurdle that I've had to deal with (a lot of moves in short period of time is a red flag to recruiters). Now I'm interviewing for jobs while 10 weeks pregnant, and praying that I get hired before I start showing. But I'm also worried about what will happen if I do get a good job, and then have to announce in just a few more months that I'm pregnant and will need to go on leave at the end of the year. I'm just not seeing it going over very well.

First one for us too

Oh yea, I forgot about the fatigue! I feel like I could sleep for days and still not be well rested. It might be all the 'getting up to pee every two hours' that's keeping me from getting a good night's sleep...
I also feel like it's going by so fast. We'll be ten weeks along in two days, and I keep thinking that it was only yesterday that I was crying on DH's shoulder because I thought we might never have a baby. It's crazy to think that we found six weeks ago that we were pregnant, and now we're only a couple weeks away from the end of the first trimester.
But YES -- at the same time, every now and then I'll realize that like a day has gone by and I didn't think about being pregnant once! It's crazy -- I've wanted this for so long that it boggles my mind that being pregnant slips my mind quite a bit! I think it's because sometimes it still doesn't seem quite real. I mean the hunger and nausea and fatigue is very real, but I feel like it'll finally really hit me that we are going to have a baby once I start showing, and so far, I'm definitely not lol.
