lise -- when i did my clomid cycles, i had one u/s per month at cd11 to check follicular growth and the thickness of my endometrium. that was it. i think most people also have a baseline scan at cd3-ish, as well. when i moved on to injectables, i had a scan at cd3 to check for cysts and then another one around cd9. my case is unusual, though, because the laws here made it impossible for us to get the monitoring we would have normally gotten. i know for most people on injectables, they have ultrasounds and bloodwork done every other day. good luck with whatever route you choose to follow. DP and i are rooting for you!
thenewzero -- welcome to our lovely little group! out of curiosity, is there a reason why you've been prescribed clomid? do you ovulate on your own without it? my experiences with that drug were rather unpleasant. i wouldn't necessarily be so worried about multiples on clomid (injectables are much more likely to lead to more than one LO); however, a lot of women, including me, find that their uterine lining thins out on it, and the effect seems to be cumulative. clomid also can give you horrible mood swings and just generally make you feel terrible. if you ovulate on your own, you might want to consider skipping the clomid and just doing the follicular scan(s). when you have a large enough follicle, you can trigger and have a well-timed IUI. i know a copule of women from QP&P who recently gave birth did it that way.
mrspp -- welcome back! it sounds like you are in exactly the right place for the bfp to happen. here's hoping it's this time around!
sotohana -- please give your DP my sincere condolences. how is she doing?
wannabmom -- WELCOME and bienvenue! you've definitely come to the right place for support and excellent babymaking/ttc-surviving advice. how's the tww(t) treating you?
rs11 -- yay for feeling better and for being at baseline again. hang in there with all those needles. i used to be totally injection-phobic, but i got over that pretty quickly, and i sure am glad i did. i've got my fingers crossed hard for you this month.
darth -- i'm so sorry to hear about the unplanned break from ttc. having been in that situation, i can understand the frustration and disappointment you are feeling. all i can say is to hang in there and enjoy this "downtime" to the fullest. i have a feeling that once you guys climb back onto the rollercoaster, you'll get a bfp pretty quickly. *hugs* to you and your DP.
hopeful -- 9dpo is definitely too early! i hope you'll get that bfp in a few days. you mentioned not using the RE next time around if this round doesn't work. would you be doing at-home IUIs or ICIs?
gelly -- yikes, i hope you don't have a kidney infection OR kidney stones. i've been getting stones several times a year for nearly 20 years, and they are *not* fun. what kind of symptoms are you having? i hope you feel better very soon!
angela -- what a gorgeous picture! i gave you my vote :) . btw, you knocked up yet?
amzep - welcome! tell us more about you and your DP! it sounds like your DP is producing mature follicles on her own. any idea why is the RE having her take the femera?
pokey -- how you doing, gal?
to anyone else i might have missed.
afu...my DP has officially stopped ttc, and i think she's pretty happy about not having to inject or insert any more hormones into her body or make any more all-day trips to belgium. i'm doing well...mostly hoping that the next 5 weeks pass quickly and uneventfully. i'm sending all you gals good wishes and sticky-bean vibes. thanks for having been such a wonderful support system all these long months.
