Sleep patterns?

I know insomnia is a somewhat common pregnancy issue, but is anyone else just not being able to sleep for as long as usual?  I would love to get a full 8 - 10! hours of sleep, even every few nights.  But every night, no matter whether it takes me a long time to go to sleep, or whether I fall instantly to sleep - I wake up super early, about 6 hours later.  Sometimes it's because I have to pee - and I guess that will ease off in the next couple months - but once I wake up, that's it.  I'm wide awake.

Also having crazy dreams - and lots of baby dreams.  I actually dreamed I was nursing a baby about a week before we found out - (without any inkling that I'd be pregnant this month) and then dreamed I was pregnant the night before I got the positive.

Anyone else having similar sleep or dream experience?  It's like I'm the complete opposite of fatigued right now!

The wild dreams...it seems like I remember a lot of my dreams here when I'm pregnant.  I'm actually pretty exhausted...go figure...but I'm still having weird sleep patterns.

The weird sleep is kind of the norm over here.  I find it's the strangest here when I am in the third trimester.  It actually is likely my first pregnancy symptom.  So, the first night I had weird sleep where I was tossing and turning and couldn't go back to bed I wound up taking a test that morning and got my first BFP!

I had the *best* dream this morning, and DH called me to wake me up and it was just getting to the good part...sigh.

I just saw the "living in tropical paradise" - where do you live?  I'm cold;)

I haven't gotten 6 consecutive hours of sleep since I was pregnant....with my first. The exhaustion helps me fall back to sleep, though. I don't know. If this is your first, I'd sleep as much as I could now. 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep sounds divine.

I've heard of sleep. I think I might have done that years ago. 8-10 hours? Unpossible!

yeahthat.gif  Ha yes, with a cosleeping, all night nursing, currently molar teething 14mo who has never slept more than 4 hours straight in his life (I think he did 4 hours once...), nevermind sleep :)

My dream vacation is a dark hotel room with a great bed and shower, lots of room service. Alone. Unlimited sleep. Pregnancy is great for training you to not expect a lot in that department.

Yep. I get terrible pregnancy insomnia. I usually wake up around 3 or 4 and have to pee and realize I am too hungry to sleep. I eat and then it takes me a couple hours to sleep again....just in time for DS to wake up (EVERY morning at 5:55)!

Oh the dreams! This time I find I am dreaming about midwives nightly (because I am seriously agonizing over who to pick). But with my last 2 pregnancies I had CRAZY sex dreams the first trimester. I mean, crazy. And I'd find myself in a hotel room making out with some random movie star (I was never so lucky to have a Brad Pitt, it was always like Steve Martin or someone totally off the wall)! Pregnancy hormones are a weird thing! winky.gif

Well, this is my 5th - but, my youngest right now is 6 yrs. old.  She still sleeps with me and definitely spends a good part of the night kicking me, but I'm used to that.

It's not that though - it's just strange.  Usually, if I sleep through the night un-kicked and don't have to get up early for whatever reason - I can get like 8 hours sleep.  Not common, but if I make myself go to bed early - it can happen.  But now I'm trying to be really good to myself and going to bed early-ish etc. and I sleep straight through and everything - but only about 6 hours.  I don't think I could sleep in, in a dark quiet hotel room, if I tried.

I'm now officially sleeping on the couch here, having anyone else in bed with me just does not work!  Sigh.  I'm also in FL btw, you asked it earlier...and yes, I'm still getting the CHILLS here.  No joke.  DH likes to keep the air at 76 and that's way too cold for me right.

Yeah, I've definitely come to the conclusion that I need to start moving gg into her own bed - now, while I still have the energy to do it!
