I am starting a new montessori school in colorado. I would like any advice that people have had with starting charter schools and more specifically with starting a montessori school. I have questions such as what grades did you start the school with? If you didnt include a private preschool then how was it starting with kindergarten? Our concern is that starting with kindergarten will be difficult because kindergarteners are intended to be the most senior of the prek -k part of the montessori curriculum. I have heard without the preschoolers, the kindergartener energy can be a bit off the wall. Also, how did you integrate the standardized testing that is required for public schools into the montessori curriculum? Did you have a montessori curriculum expert help you with the curriculum?
I am sure I have many other questions. Any advice would be helpful.
