First, I want to thank everyone for their time and response in advance! I am relocating for my job in June, to the Keelsring Site in West Milton, NewYork. I currently live and work down south in Mobile, Alabama...so it will be a change for me and my family. I am looking for a decent, family oriented community that is close to shops and that have great/decent schools...(middle school and high schools). I will be working as an engineer and wanted to stay in a diverse, and social area. My husband is in school finishing up his degree so, good jobs in the area for him is something we are looking for. Can someone help us with neighborhoods that are diverse (have nice middle class families, black, white, asian..etc and good schools)? We are looking ar the Glen Falls and Saratoga Springs area.
Also, we are the grading scales in the public school system in New York? (10 pt scale or 8 pt scale) here in Alabama we are on the 10 pt grading scale where an "A" is 90-99...we are curious to know what New York's grading is. I would like our housing to be in a kid friendly community where there are kids in the area and we don't have to travel to far for entertainment and shopping..( no more than 20 mins from entertainment)....HELP
