transitioning to expressed breast milk only

We're going to have to transition to expressed breast milk only soon because I will be starting medication for a health concern. This isn't my choice at all, ds is only 3 months old but I have a serious condition and can't wait till later to start. I've been pumping & freezing like crazy and have found a donor supply too. What else do I need to know? Is anyone else here doing this?

umm... anyone? I don't know how much longer I've got until we'll have to make the switch & I'm feeling panicked & pumping like crazy!

No advice on this topic, but want to make sure that the medication is not compatible with breastfeeding. Moms are often told they need to wean, but really don't have to. This may not be your case, but I feel the need to mention it just in case.

i'm afraid it's pretty nasty stuff so we can't at all. i'm going to be having a lot of nasty side effects and it's a long term med.

Haven't been in a situation like yours, but I did pump and bottle feed my preemie daughter exclusively pumped milk for 4 months before she transitioned to the breast.  Pump like crazy, preferably every 2 hours for 20 minutes at a time.  Hopefully you can build up a large enough freezer stash now (plus your donor supply) to last you a while.  Good luck with everything.
