Meds before implantation??

I am new to this and all forums...I hope I am posting in the right place!

I have a quick question about taking certain medicines before a possible implantation. We are TTC this month and I THINK I ovulated yesterday (I've been doing ovulation strips, but they're confusing me. Maybe that's another post, lol) Anyway, today I sprained my foot and they prescribed me vicodin. I told both the nurse and doctor that my husband and I are trying to conceive and she said I could take it if I needed. I'm pretty cautious about everything I take while pregnant or even while trying to get pregnant but this pain is pretty awful. My question is, when should an egg implant IF it were to, and could this medicine hurt an egg before it's implanted.

My RE told us nothing but Tylenol for pain between "O" day and AF. Sorry.

Implantation is around 8 DPO, and even after that, it's not connected to your body/blood supply for a while still. I see no reason to avoid medication should you need it. smile.gif

Thank you for the advice!

Mosaic, the problem with medication between ovulation and implantation, at least according to my RE, is that the medication can affect your uterus. The zygote may be immune but its future home is not. Lots of medications can apparently make it harder or impossible for a zygote to implant

Good point, RS... some meds also increase blood flow, which could be arguably good for TTC. That said, I think vicodin is still relatively safe... it's category B in pregnancy, so I would be surprised if it impacted TTC significantly.
