Labor playlist. Do you have one? What is on yours?

I had one for my last home birth put never turned it on, I wanted complete silence. This time around im just thinking of having a calming yoga cd in the background.

We played this during my c-section and I often played it around the house when DD was little.

"Pregnancy is a time of joy and happiness, but it can also be a time of stress and worry.  Dr. Thomas Verny, co-author of the best-selling book The Secret Life of the Unborn Child, (with John Kelly) and an expert in Pre- and Peri-Natal Psychology, and producer Sandra Collier have compiled this collection of classical music and exercises to provide stimulation, encourage development and enhance the bond with your unborn child to make your pregnancy joyous and fulfilling.

Features the music of Baroque and Classical-era composers Handel, Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, Boccherini, Albinoni and Corelli.  Each composition is designed to produce a relaxed state of mind, an uplifting mood and a readiness to focus and communicate with your baby."

I made a playlist for my last labor, but then it felt too...energetic, pumped up...and not right.  So we listened to James Taylor's live album instead, and that felt just right.  We listened to it the other night and it sure brought back birthing memories.love.gif  I'm thinking this time, maybe Norah Jones.

I will probably just have most of my music on iPad and have that with me...

I've been thinking of doing this. I need to go through the music I have on hand and see if anything would be good to use.

I'm thinking of maybe some trance type stuff, IDK.

I didn't have music on except in labor with my first before the midwives came,I think I put on Mazey Star.

I have one for early labor, I turn it off later on. But early, when I need distraction and dancing is beneficial to progressing labor, I turn it on and up :)

Most of it is music I just love that keeps my spirits up:

"Three Little Birds" by Bob Marley

"Don't Worry, Be Happy" by Bobby McFerrin

"First Day of My Life" by Bright Eyes

"Such Great Heights" by Postal Service

That's... pretty much all I have so far. I really need to add more.
