I was just over at the fathers day photo contest in the parenting forum. I posted two photos of DH. I saw that adalinesmama has a photo too and her siggy says she is expecting in February! After such a loss I just can't tell you how excited I am for her to be growing a new baby. She must have mixed emotions but I just saw that and thought it was so cool!

It looks like something that can be done on the web or on the iphone. It's intimate connection with facebook makes me less interested in it although it says on the FAQs page
"Is my activity automatically shared on Facebook/Twitter?
No, your activity is not automatically shared on Facebook or Twitter. Every time you create a challenge or add a comment, photo, or video, you can turn off sharing for that post by unselecting the Facebook & Twitter icons at the bottom of the screen."
I dislike having to unselection "sharing" on facebook but I don't really want all the people there to know about what I am doing here.
AFM, Good weigh in for me this morning. Yesterday I went garage saling and walked a bunch more than normal. I want to keep this up through the weekend.

Thanks for sharing, trekkingirl! I'm so happy for her!
AFM, I've lost the weight I gained over the weekend and I'm back on track. I don't think I'm going to reach my goal of 130 by the end of this challenge, though - that's 8 more pounds and the weight is becoming much harder to shed at this point. I'm trying to keep a closer eye on carbs, especially sugar, and I'm trying to increase my general physical activity, but beyond that I'm doing all I can realistically do.
On a brighter note, however, I went jeans shopping yesterday and I'm officially in a size 6! They look so tiny, and I'm beginning to wonder whether I'm perceiving my body accurately. I still feel "big".

dantesmama, i hear you on how hard it is to lose once you are no longer "overweight". what is your height? i'm about 5'6 1/2" -- close to 5'7". today i'm 142; in recent weeks, i've been as low as 139. i really liked the 139, in part b/c it was a new "decade" of weight, so to speak. also b/c i think once you are "quote-unquote SLIM" at least by modern standards, every pound you lose *really* makes a difference.
i also wear size 6 jeans, and i even have a pair in size 4.
what's funny though is that i do believe a size 6 today was a size 10 some years ago.
i'm 44 by the way, so i can remember.
anyways, congrats on the new slim you.
yes, i do believe you are probably slimmer than you feel. it never hurts to keep trying. it is easier to keep it off than to have to take it off again. but allow yourself the luxury of working at it slowly at this point.
by the way, i get lots of comments all the time that i look perfect at this size, and that i look a lot slimmer than what people think 142 is.
then i see my friend who has reduced to 128 pounds, and i *want* that last 10 pounds.
she works out like a fiend, however, and i'm just not going to make the time for that kind of obsession. i have many many other things to do.
----
AFM, i am still without my period. i have taken 4 pregnancy tests, all negative. i have a Dr. appt. for tuesday and will find out what's up. who knows, maybe it was/is all the weight loss over the past 6 months finally catching up with my body.
also, i am still nursing my 2 year old. don't know how / if it all plays a part...

Ohhh... Dantesmama and Tropicana! I'm so excited for you both!
You are both in the kind of range that I would like to end up in. Actually, maybe not quite that low, but something around 145 would make me pretty stoked!!
I'm really plodding along. I've done so well with eating, and exercising this week, but it is SLOW going.
post #208 of 3966/15/12 at 10:08pmI had a fun realization today. I think I have arrived where I want to be and I am going to drop out of this round. I have lost over 60lbs in the last year. I feel amazing. I am working out and eating well and simply enjoying being at this weight and living in this body. So, I am pulling out and enjoying the summer at this weight, in this body and feeling fabulous. Thank you all for seeing me through the last 20 pounds of this journey.
!!! Kill it ladies !!!

The content weight is the best! I was there back in 2004-2005. I want that back - even though it was 190 pounds, and still considered overweight - it was where I felt the best. Congratulations Claybear.

Tropicana, I'm 5'8", so I suppose I would be considered "slim" at a BMI of 20.7. I have latent body image issues that have been surfacing lately, though, likely dredged up by my body changing so significantly within a short period of time... I struggled with anorexia as a teen, and even at a hair over 100 lbs I still felt huge. While I'm not at all concerned about actually relapsing, I am concerned about developing that distorted body image again. At this point I'm focused mainly on decreasing my body fat (which is 26% according to my scale).
Hope you get some answers from your doctor on Tuesday. The same thing happened to me a few years back - no period, elevated temps, negative hpts. My dr wasn't very helpful, but based on my own research I assumed I had a corpus luteum cyst. Good luck!
post #214 of 3966/17/12 at 11:51amThanks ladies. I have loved the support here and having this journey together. I will miss you all as well and my sincere thanks for the extra boost of motivation that Monday weigh-ins have been.

178.2# this morning!! I think I am finally off my mid 180s run (where I have been for over a month!) and I am REALLY excited to be in the 170s. I am a little worried some of that loss is water weight because it is a large loss at once, but I have really stepped up the workouts this week, so my goal for next week is to not have any gain. I want to never see the 180s again!!!
