The eight week healthy weight loss challenge - version 3.0 (starting 21/05/21) - Page 20

I had a question and maybe this can be answered for the next challenge- what about those who don't post on Monday and wait until Tuesday to weigh in? If this is within the rules, then fine. :-) If not, perhaps it should be treated as a non-posted week. I was just thinking about how an extra day this week would have given me a 3-lb loss that would have helped the blue team a lot! Hehe, okay, enough obsessing. The important thing is that the pounds are coming off, right?

um that would be me, posting on Tuesday - I think it's my only late post, but so sorry.

154.

Gotta get a new plan.

My weight was 152 yesterday

I'm sorry but I didn't realize that there was a 2 week rule - version 3.0 was my first participation and I don't believe this rule was given.  I'm sorry to let the red team down, but thankful for the accountability this group affords.  Will do better in version 4.0 as I am retiring as the 'bridesmother' for a few more years or so.  See you @ 4.0.

Way to put us all to shame SimonMom!!!!!!  Awesome!!!

As far as missing weigh ins, I do not count late weights as misses, I only mark you as a missed weight on sunday night, so you literally have all week to post that weight before counting as a miss. (I do very much appreciate timely weigh-ins as they make my life easier, but that is a whole other issue!) The reason we do this is because by missing 2 weigh ins, you have missed 1/4 of the entire competition and the goal is to have people interacting and participating on this.  I am pretty sure it was posted on this thread, but I will make sure we get this rule posted on the next thread!!

Re: health issues - I still have not heard back from the doctor and I still feel pretty bad.  My ultrasound is in a few days and hopefully I will beable to talk the tech into telling me what they see because I am not going to hold my breath on the doctor calling with that info (military health care at its finest!)  I will keep you all posted!

And apparantly my chart is to wide again.  The missing info:

waking up this morning on European time, i noticed a loss of 1.7 pounds compared to Monday morning weigh in

i suppose it's too late to compute it in ?

am hoping to keet the pounds melt away in spite of the gap between this ending challenge and the begginning of the next one !

that would have been 161.3

WTG Ladies!  Looking forward to seeing you for version 4.0!

Thread Starter

I know, I wasn't a very good thread keeper this time round, and obviously didn't update newbies with the rules decided previously.  Sorry about that.

Maybe this should be more clear in the next thread BFM & DM?

For what it is worth, a quick calculation shows that including Bridesmother's info would not have changed the result, ie: Red team victory.

As far as Mon/Tues weigh ins, I know that if I have weighed in late, I always post Monday's weight (not Tues/etc)... As long as others are doing the same, I think it's fine?!

Bridesmother, milk and whomever else is interested, Milk DID post the rule about missing 2 weighins - see post #36.  It is large, in color and bolded.  So yes we need to make sure it is posted on the next thread, but it was clearly posted on this thread.  Just an FYI . . .

I did modify the first post in the new thread to reflect the 2 weigh in rule. thumb.gif

Is there anything else we want to make sure is in the Requirements/Rules section?

That is a great idea to have it in the initial post - that way it doesn't get "lost" among the posts!

The only other thing I can think of is what thecoffeebean brought up.  Quite frankly, I have been assuming that late posts were posting their monday weight even if they did not post it on monday.  The *request* is to weigh in early if you know you can't weigh in monday (and we have had a number of people post sunday weigh-ins for this reason).  But in my honest opinion, the weekly weigh ins are for accountability and the constest is decided on the last weigh in, so as long as that is a legitiment monday weigh in, the occasional tuesday weight during the challenge has no real affect.  But I would hate for this to be a point of contention.  So I am not sure if this is an issue that needs to be addressed or not.

I love the competitive side of this thread AND the supportive side of this thread, and I think having few but clear rules helps it so we can be both very supportive and very competitive at the same time.

Aww thanks! I'd really like to do the next challenge, but also talk more! I've been lifting weights for the past 3 months, and I really love doing it. I'm definitely in a routine now, which I need to keep motivated and see results. I do weightlifting 3x a week, and I've recently added in hill sprints on 1 or 2 of my off days.
