Quick background is that I had an IgG allergy test come back that I am allergic to brewers yeast and bakers yeast, and I also believe that I have a yeast overgrowth. I can't really do a "heal and seal" type diet without probiotic, and therefore fermented, foods, and there is mixed info out there about whether or not a yeast allergy is the same thing as, or symptom of yeast overgrowth, and what reactions I would have in terms of trying to heal.
I have been having a reaction that is unnerving to me; it used to be something that happened rarely and now it's becoming more and more frequent, and what ever the issue is that I am having, I feel I am passing something into my BM, as my DS appears to be agitated as well. I am trying to figure out if this is a reaction I am having to the food I am eating, or if this is something that is happening because there is some kind of die off thing going on. I am starting a food diary because the other side of this is that I'm not even entirely sure what I am doing that is causing this reaction.
Anyway, the reaction, which typically happens when I am laying down in bed at night is this: it starts with my heart pounding and some palpitations, I get dizzy, then I feel like my body is going to jump out of my skin, and I convulse, kind of. I feel like my skin is crawling. After a few minutes the symptoms subside, and then my body starts to relax a bit and I can lie down with out feeling zingy. That's on the more severe side of things, most times it's just the zingy creepy crawlies, but the heart arrhythmias and the convulsion like feelings have been more common as of recent.
This has happened to me two out of the past three nights, and I am really weirded out! The thing that sticks out in my mind that I have done differently is that I have tried raw apple cider vinegar, and my home made sauerkraut. (I did not eat any fermented foods the night I didn't have a reaction). Which seems to me would be a yeast issue, but it should be the "good stuff", which makes me wonder if I am having a severe die off type reaction? Or is this something totally not related to that?
The other thing that I found odd is that it came back that I am super allergic to garlic as well, which also has antibiotic properties, so is my body just reacting to my attempts to clear out my system?
What is a typical die off reaction? Are there things that I can take that will prevent some if the toxins from going into my breast milk? I confused and getting a bit worried....
*note, I have talked to my doctor about the fact that I have heart palpitations and arrhythmias, but they don't seem to be too worried about it.....(my father and brother both have "benign" heart issues, and that seems to be what we are all falling back on for not worrying about mine)*
