How long did it take to get your BFP: We weren't trying to avoid--have been careless for quite a few months.  DH really wanted another, but I was on the fence--Had hoped to postpone a pg until the summer; I teach,and a late spring baby would be more convenient. However, that wasn't in the cards :)

Birth plans: Third home birth

Goals/hopes for this pregnancy: Stay healthy and active

Early guesses about baby (gender/birthdate/etc):We won't find out (I think), and we would love a girl, but we are probably having boy #4.  We just don't seem to make girls.

Birth plans: Birth center with CNM. Had placenta acreta with my 3rd child at home - want to be closer to the hospital this time around.

Goals/hopes for this pregnancy: enjoy every second of it. It was a long time coming and we are super excited!

Early guesses about baby (gender/birthdate/etc): thinking boy

Anything else!: Mothering was my best friend with my 3 girls and I learned SO much from this magazine. Really excited to be part of this world again. This feels almost like my first time since it's been 10 years since my third child was born. I have forgotten so much about pregnancy and babies...hopefully it starts coming back to me. Anyways happy to be part of the group and excited to travel this journey with you all!

Hi everyone, so great to "meet" ya'll!

EDD: 1/30/13

#Pregnancy/baby: first for each :-)

Your age/age at the birth: 25/25

Family: DH, step daughter, 13 y/o, and 2 weenie dogs

How long did it take to get your BFP: We had been trying (not very hard) since February, but I kept missing my ovulation by a few days until last month.

Birth plans: I would love to have a homebirth with the group of midwives here, but I don't know if my husband will come around to that or not. My OB is the back up dr for the midwives, and he is AMAZING, I would have no problem delivering with him. He is one of two MD's in the state of Oklahoma that will do a VBAC, and he also has the reputation for being the "closest thing to a home birth" but in the hospital. :-)

Goals/hopes for this pregnancy:

Early guesses about baby (gender/birthdate/etc): I have a strong feeling that we will end up with a boy, my step daughter has 3 little sisters at her house, and her mama wants a boy really bad, so I just feel like the universe would of course put a baby boy in our home instead, isn't that how those things always work? :-)

Anything else!: I am a CPST-I (Child passenger safety technician instructor) and have been a car seat tech for 5 years now. I purchased my car seat back in January and it has been sitting at my moms house in DFW ever since then, because I felt like I would jinx myself if I brought it home before I was actually pregnant. Strangely enough, I did not purchase my favorite car seat of all time (Chicco KeyFit) but I actually purchased my second favorite, the Graco SnugRide 35, because it came in an argyle print, and I am pretty much obsessed with argyle. :-) I still think I might buy a second seat (KeyFit) and then let someone else have the snugride to use in their car.

Hey all.  Happy to be joining you here.  As you can see, I've had a few losses, so I'm cautiously joining you all.  I'm almost 7 weeks and CrAzY sick and bloodwork looks good, so holding my breath and hoping we get to stay :)

Family:  Big Brother will be 7, and little brother will be 2, this August.  This will be our first winter baby!

How long did it take to get your BFP: Not trying/not preventing for the past few months.

Birth plans:  Hopefully another hypnobabies waterbirth at birth center, like DS2

Goals/hopes for this pregnancy:  being able to stay calm even though life is crazy-busy right now:)

Early guesses about baby (gender/birthdate/etc):   I always go right up to my due date, so I'm presuming very late Jan or possibly early february.  We would be over the moon for a girl, but I think it's another sweet boy:)

Anything else!:  I am so excited!  Can't wait to go on this journey again!

EDD: Jan. 17th (but my other babes were both two weeks early)

How long did it take to get your BFP: we JUST started trying. I was really surprised at how quickly this happened.

Birth plans: due to sub par care with my first pregnancy, I will need to have a c-section :( 

Goals/hopes for this pregnancy: I am trying to feel connected and aware of the beautiful life inside my while continuing to enjoy and appreciate my two little boys who are growing up soooo fast! I am also trying to stay fit and active so that my recovery time will be as minimal as possible and I can spend more time enjoying my wonderful growing family.

Early guesses about baby (gender/birthdate/etc): I would be happy with either, and in fact the relationship growing between the brothers is so beautiful that another boy would be lovely, but I secretly hope it is a girl just because there are no little girls in this generation in our extended family.

How long did it take to get your BFP:  miscarried in March, had one period then preg!

Birth plans:VBAC at the birth center

Goals/hopes for this pregnancy:Just hoping it sticks and also trying to keep in shape.  I gained 60 pounds with my son, normal weight is around 120 at 5'6" so that was waaay too much!  

Early guesses about baby (gender/birthdate/etc): I have a Taurus son so having a Cap makes sense for their relationship, but I have never imagined myself with a Cappie child so it's a bit strange.  I would like a daughter but really don't care one way or the other!

Hello! Mind if I join? My EDD is December 25th, but since it's our first I know that it's very likely I'll end up with a January Baby.

#Pregnancy/baby: 1st of each

Your age/age at the birth: 27/28 (I'll actually be 28 next week)

Family: Just me and DH (30)!

How long did it take to get your BFP: (big fat positive, were you trying/how long?) We were actively trying for about 1.5 years. I found out in Oct '11 that I had PCOS with Insulin Resistance (I had thought my irregular cycles were just due to coming off BC), so I started Metformin. Three normal cycles later and it finally happened!

Birth plans: Homebirth. I've been interested in it since long before we started trying to get pregnant, and so far everything seems to be lining up for us to go for it.

Goals/hopes for this pregnancy: To enjoy the time I have with family/friends in the states, and to have a successful, natural homebirth.

Early guesses about baby (gender/birthdate/etc): So far, according to all of the old wives tales, I've had the "boy" signs. But really, I have no idea!

Anything else: We're moving to the UK in September (at the end of my 2nd trimester), which is both exciting and a little scary. The good part is that my close friend, a midwife, is doing all of my prenatal care here, and then once we move I shouldn't have any trouble putting in for a homebirth with NHS. The maternal/newborn rates in the UK are really great, and they're very pro-homebirth, so that makes me pretty happy. It is a little hard that I won't be able to even think about nursery-type stuff until we get over there, and that our families won't be there, but they all plan to fly over after the birth. It will definitely be an adventure!

Birth plans: 4th homebirth/waterbirth

Goals/hopes for this pregnancy:  Hoping I can emotionally be okay enough that it won't have any effect on the baby.  Still grieving the loss of my 2 year old, but so excited to have something so special to look forward to!

Early guesses about baby (gender/birthdate/etc):  I am about 95% sure it's a girl.  We spoke with a medium after my son died and he said my grandmother came through and said we would get pregnant with a little girl in May!  Another medium contacted me recently as well (free of charge) and said the same thing.  They both brought this up, without me asking, and nobody except dh and I even know we were ttc!  Not going to find out on the 20 week u/s though!

Hi, I'm Lydia

My EDD is Feb 1 as of right now, but DS#1 was 3 weeks early and I have a feeling that my EDD will be moved up by a week or so once I have an u/s

This will be my second pregnancy and second baby.

I am currently 39, but turn 40 on August23 so I will be 40when this one comes.

My family consists of me, DH, DS 2/1/2008, and our Fur baby,a dog named Gus.

We really haven't been trying, but not preventing either, so this was kind of a surprise.

Hospital birth due to high risk,but hoping to be able to have a water birth this time.

I hope for a healthy happy pregnancy.

I have a hope/ feeling this one will turnout to be a girl, but I think it may just be wishful thinking.

I look for ward to getting to know you all over the next few months.

How long did it take to get your BFP: We were not-not-trying for a few months, but this was the first month I'd stopped to think about when I might be about to ovulate.

Birth plans: Since Alabama STILL has not legalized midwives, we will be crossing into Tennessee for another home-away-from-homebirth at our wonderful midwife's clinic about 1/2 hour north.

Goals/hopes for this pregnancy: I just hope I can muster up the energy to keep up with my toddler!  My biggest goal is to stay fit and active, but right now my body seems to want to sleep half the day away...

Early guesses about baby (gender/birthdate/etc): My friend has been telling me how she's sure it will be a girl because two days passed between dtd and when I felt ovulation cramping and x-chromosome sperm tend to hang out longer.  Anyone else heard of such a thing?  I will be thrilled with a healthy babe, boy or girl, though I do hope to have a girl before my husband puts his foot down and says no more babies.  :)

Anything else!: I'm still nursing and it is already crossing from mildly uncomfortable to not at all pleasant.  I'd been hoping to nurse til my son was ready to stop, but if this gets much worse I am not sure I'll make it.
