The silly things that make you cry...

Today was my last day of work.  I'm folding the first of what will be thousands of baskets of itty bitty baby clothing.  And all of this blue and yellow tiny fluffy stuff is completely doing me in.

Ah, the joys of pregnancy hormones!  Anyone else finding they cry at the drop of a (tiny little ducky covered) hat?

I haven't found myself to be overly emotional during pregnancy (in fact, somewhat the opposite), but I did watch a Nature special the other day on mothers and babies (forgetting, of course, that these things always end with hyenas) and there was a scene when a mother lemur has to decide to abandon her baby.  She keeps coming back to look and then leaving again and the little baby is just laying there crying.... Oh yeah, I pretty much lost it.  Sooooooooo freaking sad.

I get really excited and squeaky about the little clothes.  I just got some cloth diapers in the mail and I carried one around with me for like an hour because it was so cute.  joy.gif

I also get pretty emotional with music. I'm pretty sure I can't listen to anything by Janis Joplin while pregnant. I don't know what it is, but that woman's voice just gets to me. It strikes some sort of deep chord within me and I can't hold back the tears....especially "Summertime."

ANY country music song that mentions "home" or children....

Music does it a lot, but lately I've been listening to upbeat fun stuff so I haven't had any incidents.  I feel like I've been avoiding things that will make me overly emotional.

I was re-shelving picture books last night and put one away that was by Billy Crystal to his unborn granddaughter, and if I hadn't been working I would have lost it completely.  As it was I had to take a few minutes to get it together, it was too sweet.

I totally saw that!!  I was not long after DD was born and I completely lost it.  Poor DH had no idea what to do with me.

Music does it too.  I always seem to at least tear up during praise and worship at church these days too, which is not at all the norm for me.
