Getting admission in daycare in Cincinnati for non vaccinated kid

Hi ,

  We recently moved from Phoenix to Cincinnati. I have a 2 year old son. He is partially vaccinated. We did not vaccinate him because of our theory  that it may cause him the same devastating GI issue that my DH is going through. But the doctors does not support this theory, but still we do not want to take chances.  

We were looking for a day care / toddler school where we can enroll him. But all the ones I spoke to needs a written note from doctor about why we did not vaccinate him. Has anyone of you faced a similar situation ? In phoenix day cares carried a exemption form which we had to sign and that was enough to get enrolled. Please help me with this issue.

Also can someone please suggest me a vaccine friendly doctor in this area ?

I would go one of two routs:

a) A philosophical exemption.

b) a chiropractor or naturopath for a note.

When you say Philosophical reason do I submit a form for that. The day cares did not give me any such option. Can you please tell me if I have to go with this option, what do I have to do ?

And with the next option of chiropractic/naturopath do I just get a note saying that he should not get this vaccination for some medical reasons or should it be something else . And will the naturopath give such a note? I am sorry to bombard so many questions . Just that we never faced such a situation earlier and are clueless on how to proceed. 

Are you aware of any good naturopath ? I was already planning to start showing my son to a naturopath because of his eczema issues.

I am up north in the Cleveland area so I can't help with a Dr.

As for the exemption, here's what I did.  When I got the school forms and the vax one was there, I just skipped it.  I had the other physical part filled out. I think the Dr. put "parent's decline vaccinations" or something.  In Ohio you can deny vax's for medical, religious and philosophical reasons. We've been through 2 schools and 2 kids and I was so worried but when the time came, it was never questioned.  

A chiro or naturopath who would provide a physical and fill out your school forms I would think could help you out with a letter if you need one.

Another option would be to find a Montessori school.  Many of them are fairly easy going on the Vax stuff.  Also, may daughter is behind on her vaxs and our YMCA based one has not said anything about it.  They just need the forms filled out for the purposes of maintain their requirements under the State of Ohio and not get dinged for things like that.

   My son is just 26 months old and most of the montessories will not take him till he is 3. The only one I saw which takes such young kids is too far for us to travel everyday. That's why we left that option.

 My father in law is a Chriopractor...big on no vacinnations! He also sends his 2 grandbabies to a Montassori school without problems. He is in Northern Kentucky. Dr. Aromola 859-628-2469.
