Looking for a midwife who can deliver in a hospital. I live in Germantown, MD.

I've recently moved to this area. My first boy was born all natural with a midwife in a hospital in NJ. It was just perfect!

I just found out that i'm pregnant and am looking for a midwife in this area. I did make an appt. with one who could deliver babies in a hospital but when I googled her- the reviews were not good. I have Cigna health insurance. Ofcourse it'll be better if the midwife takes Cigna but even if she doesn't, I might entertain seeing her. 

Any help would be appreciated.

I have made an appt. with the Capital Womens care in Bethesda, MD. But the more and more I research the midwifes in this area, seems like they are quite aggressive. 

It would be nice to go to one who has been refered by someone.

The only other people I know are midwifery care associates (MCA) at shady grove hospital, and through my experience, I can't recommend them, however I know other people who have been very happy with them

I had called them as well, but in the middle of the call - hung up. Just didn't get a good feeling.

Have you heard anything about Capital Womens care?

The closest hospital-based midwifery practice to Germantown is MCA at Shady Grove. There are a few others in the DC area, but that would be quite a drive. If you're up for it though, I would highly recommend the Wisdom practice at GWUH.

Thank you so much- those women seem really good, but it is a trek for me. 

I will see how my appt. with Capital womens care goes and then if anything- will have to make the effort to go down there.

Maybe you know this already, but the one nurse-midwife at CWC in Silver Spring, Sheila Bennett, only does office visits. She doesn't work in Labor & Delivery, so if you're looking for midwifery care for the actual birth, she wouldn't be an option.
