HCG diet and birth control fails?

I am not on this diet but this is out of curiosity. I have known two people who went on this diet with injections from doctors and following the food rules. Both of them were on the pill, and both ended up pregnant. One of them had a baby with some subtle special needs issues that they are still figuring out. The other is still pregnant. Both feel that the HCG diet interfered with their birth control pills. Any thoughts on this? Is there any truth to it?

I am not a physician nor skilled/knowledgeable in anything medical...

But, I would observe that hcg alone *shouldn't* impact one's birth control. What might happen, though, is that as we lose weight our hormones change. A woman may increase her fertility, IMHO, simply by getting some of that extra weight off.

Another correlation (though again not necessarily causal) is that when we lose weight we just feel sexier and maybe friskier... increase in sex drive alone could account for some of those pregnancies.
