Me! And I wonder if we live in the same, or different crunchy urban neighborhood - I am in Philadelphia, too! (On the edge between Germantown & Mt. Airy.)
TMBM works (or plans to work) outside the home at least part time!
I guess I can answer both of these!
LOVE mexican food, mostly when I make it myself. One of my specialities is fried halibut tacos with homemade pico de gallo, avocado, and cilantro-jalepeno mayo.....yumm, I want some right now.
I currently work full time at a small non-profit doing renewable energy advocacy and education. It is a very rewarding job and I work with fantastic people. I will continue to work after the baby is born (after two months of paid leave plus a month of part time). It's not ideal but I'm the main breadwinner so there really isn't much of a way around it. Luckily, we have a very supportive family in town, and my husband works retail and has a flexible schedule (i.e. has weekdays off), so I don't think that we'll have to rely on daycare more than one day a week, if that. Plus, we live very close to my work so I think it will be very doable for me to come home and breastfeed during my lunch. I'm also hoping my boss will let me work from home one day a week for a while.
I'm positive that we can make it work but I know it will be hard. Hopefully in a couple of years I can find a part time job I love or work for myself as a consultant. If any moms have advice on the transition back to the working world and balancing other life responsibilities, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
TMBM is co-sleeping and has an organic bed (or is thinking about buying one).
I CANNOT wait to meet this babe! I mean, I can, and will wait, but I am so excited! I just wish I had an intuition about what this one's going to be, the suspense is killing me! lol
Travelmumma-I love Ebay with a love that is pure and true :) Etsy too....DH says I fall into a portal when I go to Ebay or Etsy, lol
TMBM has had intense cravings
Dude, I have eaten my weight in tomatoes this week. Seriously, I cannot get enough of fresh, local tomatoes, doused in salt. That's all I want. And then yesterday, as if I didn't eat enough tomatoes, I made tomato soup for supper. So yum!! (and now, after I submit this, I am getting out of bed and going to go have a tomato-y snack, thank you very much!)
TMBM has already started collecting birth supplies...?
I am celebrating a milestone birthday - actually we did last week - my oldest turned 13, and is now a teenager!!!! So crazy being a mama of a teen, and pregnant with another! Sometimes I think I am nuts for having another, I was so 'done' with the diapers & night feedings, etc....
TMBM has a wish-list of maternity clothes she will never actually buy because they are so ridiculously expensive ;)
I am planning to go see my family in Texas next month.
TMBM is signed up for Bradley classes.
Have I ever. We started a garden this spring and I'm also taking an Organic Gardening class this summer, so it's been consuming our household (as we consume the garden :p). We've had a number of great salads from our garden and I'm using some snap peas in a soba noodle salad for dinner tonight. We dream of living off the grid and living in a sustainable household someday.
TMBM loves Dim Sum!
I LOVE Dim Sum! I love making gao and bau! Mmm, thanks mama now I have a serious hankering! Also esp831 ditto on the plan/dream to live sustainably off the grid someday, this hope/dream/deep desire consumes much of what we do in the present as we work towards that goal
TMBM has her babe's name totally figured out!
