ForestMushroom must be otherwise occupied ;)

Can't wait to hear about it!

So I am going to start this weeks thread.

Hi there,  yes it is common practice for two independant OB's to check a problem like amniotic fluid - and it is indeed low according to both of them.

I will probly have a choice in induction methods - but all 3 times that I have been induced - nothing wanted to work.  The only thing that worked in the end was rupturing of the membranes.  That was awfully painfull and I had to get a epudural nearly immediatly.

I just want it to come naturally.  37 weeks and 2 days today.

Today is my birthday! We're not doing anything special today- putting up wallpaper and then seeing if we can fit 3 Radians across in the backseat of our Subaru ($1000 worth of carseat- ugh!).

But today MIGHT be baby day! Maybe! I'm getting contractions about 5 minutes apart. Started last night around 9, stopped (or I slept through them) when I went to bed, and then started up again when I woke up. Still going along. Very mild, though - I can definitely feel them, but they're not bad. Fingers crossed!

Happy birthday, Grace! I thought yesterday might be baby day for me, but alas, not to be. I hope your contractions progress better than mine did!

That would be pretty cool to have the baby on your birthday. :)  My gramma and uncle share a birthday. :)

Happy birthday Grace! I think it has to be baby day for you! Keeping my fingers crossed. I have to get on the computer to update those birth announcements-- didnt Forest have her baby??

I feel like I've just been puttering around the house - not really doing much.  I'm 38w4d, so I still have quite some time (up to 3.5 weeks I suppose), but I'm ready to be excited - haha.  Actually, I'm really ready for that supposed energy surge you get a day or two before labor.  I'm going to be sorely disappointed if that never comes...I have some cleaning I'm not super motivated to do at the moment, but it needs to be done.  Things like cleaning the front of the fridge, dusting, sweeping and vacuuming our bedroom, etc.

I'm waiting on my doctor's office to call me about my 24-hour urine lab...I bet they forgot to call the lab.  That's the bad thing about having a popular doctor's office in this city, they are so busy.  I'm more than happy to be on top of things - it is my health after all!  My feet and ankles are looking much better now that I got some compression stockings - granny socks have to be sexier than puffy cankles, right?

Every time I walk past a mirror I think, "I look so weird without a belly!"  I'm still not used to having a "flat" stomach again.  I kinda miss the belly.

I'm actually really afraid I'm going to miss being pregnant :(  I know I'll be elated to have our baby girl here, but I can't help but wonder what it's like to feel what you're describing.

I missed it a LOT with DS.  It was a difficult adjustment for me.  We're going to have to see how it is this time.

Are you sure you're not just saying that to make us feel better smile.gif As much as I think other pregnant women are lovely... I am really looking forward to fitting into clothes again!

And as for that burst of energy... I honestly don't see how it's going to happen to me - I'm exhausted by my swollen feet and low heavy baby in my pelvis. I just hope when the baby decides to come ill get some crazy oxytocin surges that give me the energy to push!

I am still here.

Dr sees no improvement in my amniotic fluid levels.  I will be induced next Tuesday morning if I cant manage to convince my baby to come before them.

help, I really do not want to be induced again.

lol No!  I really do miss it.  It's weird.  I didn't feel this way at all after DD1 was born.  And they were both easy pregnancies, so I'm not sure what the difference is.

I do have to say though...I DO NOT miss having heartburn all the time.  And I'm really enjoying being able to eat whatever I want without feeling crappy afterwards.  I might gain more weight post-partum than I did during pregnancy.  lol

I'm hoping someone can explain this to me, because I do not want to go back to the hospital until Wednesday when I'm being induced (or when my water breaks or I actually go into labor...)

I keep feeling a weird scraping/popping sensation in my cervix. What is this???

Dilation.  :)

More specifically it's most likely the presenting part of baby applying pressure to your cervix.  It does feel very strange and sometimes painful.  But that's supposed to be happening.  It's a good thing, since you're facing induction.  It means an increase in your Bishop Score.

Oh Thank God! I was worried it was something tearing or breaking.

Seriously, I have "broken vagina" syndrome today... I'm glad to know this might actually be something positive instead of yet another sign that something isn't good.

Oh, man, I'm so jealous Sara! I'm 2 1/2 weeks out and still 10 lbs. over pre-preg (and I was also about 15 lbs. over at that point). I am still wearing "yoga" pants every day, lol! However, all of my shoes fit fine. I've never had any foot swelling or increase in shoe size with either pregnancy.

For some reason I heard Oprah say, "My va-jay-jay's paining!"  I'm not sure if you ever saw that episode, but it cracks me up!  In all seriousness though, I hope you are able to relax some before you have your baby!  You're almost there!

I need to get to bed, but suffice it to say that I was almost admitted to the hospital for low/no amniotic fluid after a BPP, then (or while?) my water broke, and I've been in early labor since. a kind nurse and exceptional OB encouraged me to continue with my homebirth plans despite the weirdness. I've been in early labor since and the contractions have been fairly mild. hoping it'll be baby time (finally!) when I wake up, if I can sleep.
