Wash routine for PL poop accidents in undies?

Thread Starter

My DD is 2.5 and has been out of dipes for a week or so and is only wearing undies or Flip trainers.  She is most consistent with pee and is having a poop accident every other day or so (I think the Flip trainers feel too much like dipes to her and is confusing).  What I am wondering is how I should deal with the trainer inserts and undies that fell victim to the poop accidents, now that I am no longer doing a whole diaper washing routine.  Do they get tossed in with the laundry?  It seems like such a waste of water to run a cycle with just 2-3 things in it.

Thanks!

What I did while using disposables (before switching to cloth) is a quick hand wash then soak in a small basin to get rid of the worst of it. Next time I was running a load of baby clothes I just added the soiled but now less dirty things to the wash. It worked pretty well and I felt better that most of the mess didn't get into the washer to permeate the other clothes.

If/when you end up throwing the undwerwear out, have her do it. Maybe a simple "Oh, these are stained. Our poop wants to go in the potty." To help her notice cause and effect.
