interesting stories!

The house hubby and i used to live in had a presence. My daughter's door opened by itself, we heard stuff over the monitor, I never felt right, when I would put her down to sleep and my back was facing the doorway. My son's room was right by her's. One evening when he was on the phone with my mom, in his room(everyone else was downstairs watching tv) he said he saw daddy walk into my daughter's room and when he checked no one was in there. Then he hurried downstairs. He also had dreams of a faceless, armless man, who he called "Tardo". Also, when i was in the process of painting my daughter's nursery, I was taking pictures and when I downloaded them, I saw one had a mist in it.(with mist) mist.jpg(without mist)mist2.jpg

But when I was 13, I was home alone with my 15 year old sister when we went to bed. I shut my door and turned out the light. About 10 minutes later, my door handle started jiggling violently and stopped after 10 seconds. I turned on my light cautiously and opened the door. Nothing.

5 years later, I used to help my mom clean houses. She has a lawyer client whose house looked to be built in the 60's. All the walls are wooden, so it gave the house a dark and "not lived in" look. i could deal with that, even though it was creepy, but as soon as I got to the stairs to the basement(even though its finished and doesn't feel like a basement) my breath was taken away, as if I were chest deep in cold water and dread tightened my chest. The basement felt dark, spiritually, and I always had to get the cleaning supplies.

Fun thread.  I'm getting shivers reading the stories.

My only personal "paranormal" story was in a dream.  It was shortly after DS was born, and I had a dream that I was introducing him to my Grampa's brother, who had passed about 3 years before.  We used to spend summers with my Grampa's brother and his wife (who is my Gramma's sister).  They had no children and we were like their adopted grandkids.  Anyway, I was introducing my newborn DS to my uncle Sander, and saying, "Isn't he perfect" and uncle Sander replying, "He sure is".  I woke up feeling comforted, knowing that my Uncle Sander is my DS's guardian angel.

I have had several "psychic" experiences myself.  Once, I felt the urge to call my uncle.  No reason, it just popped into my head to call him.  He picked up and said, "you got my message?"  I hadn't.  I was calling from my cell and had been out of the house for over an hour.  He had JUST left a voicemail on my home phone.

Another time I was working (I worked at a restaurant) and these two regular customers popped into my head.  It was a Sunday, and they ALWAYS came in Friday afternoons and only Friday afternoons.  I mentioned to a co-worker that they hadn't been in forever, and she commented on the same thing.  10 minutes later, they walked through the door.

Those are two that stand out, but there are others and my mom and I "ESP" eachother all the time, as we call it.  I'll think of her and my phone will ring seconds later with her calling, and vice versa.  Just the other day, my phone rang and DS (22 mos) said "Nana!!"  Sure enough, it was Nana calling. lol.

I have one good "Ghost" story, but it's a bit sad.  When my mom was a teenager, she used to spend summers in another province with her aunt and uncle, babysitting their young daughter.  One night, she was sleeping and suddenly woke up, and her boyfriend was sitting on the end of her bed (remember, he lived in a different province).  He told her he loved her and would miss her, but that she was going to have a wonderful life and to be happy.  She went back to sleep.  The next morning, the phone rang.  It was my grandmother calling to tell my mother that her boyfriend had died in a car accident the night before.  He had come to say good-bye.  I've told that story a pile of times and get goose bumps each time.

I have to share a few experiences my mom had as well. When I was 10, we were sharing a double-wide trailer with a 55 year old war-veteran. He had a wood-burning stove in the living room. One night, my mom's boyfriend stoked the fire too hot and some of the metal was red and there was a threat of a fire. My mom woke up hearing a woman whispering her name. It was a woman in her mid-thirties, in a nurse's outfit and she disappeared out of the room into the hallway and was gone. Mom felt something was wrong and went into the hall to find that the wood-stove was red in spots and opened the vent on it to cool it down and opened windows. My mom told our roommate the next morning and he turned white. My mom asked what was wrong and he said "my sister was a nurse and she died in a fire 20 years ago."

My mom has also been visited in dreams by deceased relatives, calming her just days after their death. My great-grandfather cupped her face in his hands, looked her in the eye and said "you're gonna be fine, sis. I love you." And walked away, up a grassy hill.

These pics were taken about 20 years ago, I just found them today in cleaning out for a move. I am the girl on the right, standing next to a tree (these are from the contact sheet, unfortunately I never got prints). Look closely at the tree, there is a woman's face in it. On the right picture I'm looking right at her! We didn't notice this until after developing them.

I have had other paranormal experiences, mostly of receiving communication from (at that time recently) deceased friends, as well as the occasional dream of them. But I am too tired to tell all of them. Suffice it to say, I am certain that dead people can communicate with those left behind.

well since you guys are on dreams and stories...

... the one thing i missed about my dad (even though i have always felt him) was not being able to hug him or give him a hug. we were definitely not a huggy family. i was going through some stuff and i really needed his hug to feel safe. so i had this dream (dont remember details) where he came and hugged me. omg what a feeling i lived in after i woke up. that stayed with me for a whole week. i have never experienced that joy that feeling of loved in quite that way again.

it so brought me peace because i hope i can do that with my daughter after i am gone. i KNOW she is going to really MISS me.

on another note, at an online chat a new member came up and asked me privately if she could do a reading for me as someone was there who really wanted to speak to me through her. but she said she would only do it IF i was willing.

now no one knows any details of me on the chat except for special interest stuff. no one knew ANYTHING personal about me.

from what she said i knew it was my father and the message he wanted to say was that he was so THRILLEd i had gone back to school. no way did anyone, neither at MDC knew i was going to school. there was so much more. but the one thing he wanted to let me know was how happy he was that i was back in school.

My mom had to put one of her dogs down about 5 months ago, due to cancer. She had a bum leg and it would drag on the floor with she walked. You could hear her coming before you saw her. Now, almost every night after mom goes to bed, she hears her dog gimping down the hallway and it stops at her bedroom door, as if she stops and lays in her usual spot on the floor by the bed.

My DH has a bunch of ghost stories and is physic. I can send him thoughts if we're in the same room. Like random thoughts not associated with anything we've ever talked about. He's always saying what I was just thinking about, so I tried to send him thoughts one time and it worked! I think I thought about something really random, like "I want a banana".

Anyone have anymore stories to share?

I used to live in a house that was 100+ years old.  It was next to a cemetery that hadn't had anyone buried in it in quite a while (like the 1930s maybe?) & had at least five civil war soldiers buried there, so you know it's old.  Dh & I were in the basement one day when we clearly heard someone walking through the first floor of the house.  We just kind of looked at each other, like, okay, we're not alone.  I don't recall feeling like there was always someone around, but at times I think I did.  I don't know any history of the house beyond the people who owned it before us (nothing memorable) so not sure all of what went on.

I really liked that house & the neighbors were quiet.  lol.gif

I've had sleep paralysis a few times, and it's really terrifying (but not paranormal, although it certainly feels that way at the time!) During each episode, I've been absolutely convinced that there's someone evil sitting on my bed -- I can feel the bed sink down to one side and everything, but I can't move and I can't open my eyes. I know I need to wake up, but it's like I'm swimming up through molasses to force myself to open my eyes. Each time, I wake up gasping and terrified. It's only ever happened at my mom's house, and it still happens to her sometimes. Hmmm....

Another story that I've shared here before is the night in college when I just felt inexplicably despondent. I was so agitated that I remember pacing my bedroom floor with my face screwed up in emotional agony, and I was thinking, "What is this?? This isn't about anything, this isn't me!" I wrote poetry at the time, so in an effort to get the feelings out I wrote a poem, then finally calmed down and went to bed. The next morning I was awakened by a phone call from my uncle, telling me that my aunt had committed suicide by hanging the night before. In my grief, the episode and poem from the night before didn't even cross my mind. I didn't look at it until a few months later, when I got out my poetry book to write another poem. I reread the poem from that night, noticed the date, and got chills. The poem has tons of references to choking, feeling icy cold fingers around my throat, and there being no way out. It makes me so sad, because I felt her feelings of despair and hopelessness.

That's so terrible. I'm sorry for your loss. :( Really intriguing that you felt what she felt though.

This was a few years back. We had just moved into a trailer. DF was gone to the store, and I was by myself. All of a sudden, I heard someone say, "Get out." I looked out all the windows, there was no one there (it was a trailer park with only, like, four trailers). When DF came back, I told him. Often, we would hear voices talking back and forth, and hear moving around. One time, we were leaving in the night for something, and there was some furniture and stuff outside for a yard sale. It was pitch black, no street lamps or anything. There was a vanity type thing with a mirror, and before we got to it, I heard a door slam, heard a female scream, and saw tail lights. When we passed, then I saw our tail lights. After that incident, we didn't see or hear anything else.

Awhile after that, we were living in an upstairs apartment. All night long, I kept hearing train horns, but there weren't any train tracks nearby. (There used to be one, but they took it out I think about 20 years ago, as I never remember seeing it.) DF heard it sporadically, but I heard it almost constantly, all night. About 4 am, I started to get *very* emotional, crying and just feeling very sad and down. Then I saw a young girl, in her 20's, maybe, at a train station. She was very sad, crying. It was like I was there. She was wearing an older style dress, with the blazer/jacket with the buttons down the front, and a knee-length skirt, with a matching hat. She just kept crying, and so sad. She didn't say anything, just cried. I felt like I was right there, I felt her sadness, and I started crying. DF asked me what was wrong, and I told him. He said that he had just had the image of the same girl flash in his head, too. It was very weird.

In the same apartment, a few months later, we started seeing a little girl running around. She had blond curly hair, and wore an older-fashioned, lacy dress, or sometimes, it was just a silhouette. When I first saw the silhouette, I thought it was DD, but when I called out to her, she didn't respond, and when I checked on DD, she was sound asleep.

There was also pretty frequently nights when we would hear a baby crying, that sounded *exactly* like DS, and we would go check on him, and he was sound asleep.

Sometimes, we would hear dishes and other things moving around in the kitchen, when none of us were in there.

We also saw yellow eyes right outside our window, looking in. (This was on second story, with no balcony or anything.) That gives me shivers still just thinking about it.

This is from DF. One night, DF and I were watching a movie or something, and I had just fallen asleep. He said there was a Ricker's cup sitting on the coffee table in front of him. He said at first it scooted a little bit, then stopped, then started rocking, then started levitating. DF is *very* into the paranormal, and he has been on (amateur) paranormal investigation teams, so he's not spooked by much, but this combined with a feeling of evil he got around the same time scared him enough for him to wake me, DD, and DS up, and rush us out of the apartment.

A few days later, DF and I went back just us. When we got inside, all of the kids' stuffed animals were in a pile in the doorway, when there had been none there when we left. DF had brought some holy water, and some house-cleansing prayers we got from Catholic priest(?) and we started blessing the house. When we got to the front door again, DF started a last, final prayer, and I started feeling something clawing/climbing up my legs, inside my jeans, and there was a black mist forming in the living room. It was *so* scary.

Holy COW! Where were you? Have you looked more into the history of the places where this stuff happened?

I have so many of these. When I was 7 I got into an argument with my brother and sister and how we had an older brother. I had serious memories of him. He has red curly hair and was 17 at the time. That he lived faraway but I still talked to him.some times. I was so mad they thought I was lying that I went to my mom. "Mom tell them about our brother. They say i am making it up." She asked me what I was talking about so I explained it to her. She started to cry and told me that 17 years before that she had an abortion. Then she grabbed a picture of her boyfriend at the time and he looked so much like the boy I was remembering curly red hair and everything.

This one still is weird for mebto talk about. I have never told anyone. When I was thirteen me and my friends went on a past life binge. We researched ways to remember and it got super intense. The weird thing was that I wrote it all down in a journal. There were five of us and when I went back to look at it before I had children it was spot on but mine didn't make sense. It predicted the exact number and genders of.children each of us would have. But mine would both not survive and my pregnancies would only last 4 months then I would have a son. All 5 of us followed it to the t. My daughter and my son were both born at 18 weeks and did not survive and I have my son now. I never told any of them about the Reccord or my dp.

Ill add.more later
