yikes! planted too close - help!

just planted carrots, beets and radishes but...i think i've done them too close. there's only about 4 inches between rows 

can you tell i'm a newbie? i was just so excited and i didn't bother measuring etc.

what's going to happen to my vegetables? there's nothing i can do now is there...?

Wait for them to get a bit bigger and then move every other one.  It shouldn't be too bad but it will end up growing altogether if you don't clear it out a bit.  It's not the worst thing but it does make it really hard to weed and walk through.  I usually only weed around the plant myself but it's hard to know what is what if the weeds mix in with the plants.

How much space is between the individual seedlings popping up?  How many rows do you have 4" apart?  You probably won't be able to transplant any to a new spot, since these are all root plants.  You can eat the beet thinnings - just throw anything small into a salad.  Radishes can grow close together, so I might not worry about those, just harvest some of them small to give others space to keep growing.  With carrots, make sure there is enough room between seedlings for a mature carrot's "shoulders" - so depending on variety - an inch or so.  With those, I would just snip those that are in the way with scissors.  You don't want to rip up neighboring seedlings by pulling them up by the roots.
