I have always been confused by that 12 or 13 week thing too. Some websites/books say one thing and then others say something else. I guess I figured that when you made it through week 12 you were officially 2nd trimester but I just saw a website that broke down the trimesters different....who knows?

I've seen different weeks listed for the beginning of the 2nd trimester as well.  I would say most people go by 12 weeks as the mark because that is when all the baby's organs are developed.  I think the 13.3 week thing is when they actually divide your pregnancy into even thirds.

Arghhhh I am 4 days off 2nd Tri!!!!!! 

We have announced it on Facebook and everyone knows now... But it will be so nice to be able to say "Second Trimester" when people ask!!!

I'm 12 weeks today, and my due date calculator I've favorited says I'm in the 2nd trimester, so that's what I'll go with :)

I feel slightly less tired today, but I did sleep in until 11.

Hooray! So excited to finally be in the second trimester as well! I will be 13 weeks tomorrow and have been feeling really good. I'm still a bit shocked that I made it through the first trimester without much m/s (and only throwing up once). For a while I was a bit concerned, but now I'm just grateful. It's so nice having everyone know and being able to talk about it -- AND I finally have a visible bump. :)

Woo hoo!  I'm right there with you all....if you count 12.5 weeks as the beginning!  LOL  Since I'm due at the end I'm guessing that all of us here are likely in the second trimester.  

Still very sick though, threw up 4 times in the last two days, one of which was waiting at a bus stop.  Had to tell the people who were there why I was getting sick as they looked scared!  Just so they knew it wasn't catchable!

Love the bus stop story phatchristy, though of course I'm sorry that you're that sick!

I guess I'm 2nd tri now too, 13w5d today.  Still feeling a bit sick most days (and sometimes most of the day), but it's nice to leave the chronic exhaustion behind.

I'm a little behind because I'm due on 12/27 but woooohoooo, I made it too with two peaches in the basket!! Happy, still pukey, feeling ready to tell people but a little protective of these precious souls, like holding our hands around 2 candle flames, kind of loving the intimacy and quiet of only the core tribe knowing. Makes me not quite ready to take the FB plunge. That said, it's always so cool to see the creative ways people "announce."

Congratulations on your babies and reaching this far!  That is soo exciting! I found the whole journey having twins simultaneously thrilling and terrifying. Part of me was a teeny bit disappointed when I found out that I wasn't having twins again this time (even though we couldn't possibly cope with 5 kids in our little house - LOL!) just because it was so truly awe inspiring growing two little people inside me.  Have you read any twin pregnancy/ childcare books that you like? I devoured them while I was pregnant - some were great, some made me really mad!

I haven't read any twin specific books yet, do you have any recommendations Lizzie? Yeah, it's amazing and wonderful and a little intimidating. Although as time goes on, I so connected to both already that the intimidated feeling is fading. We'll figure it all out as we go like all new parents do How far along we're you when you gave birth? Did you have to be on bedrest or anything to encourage them to stay longer ?

congradz!!! i'm 14 weeks and one day today!! this is my first pregnancy, so my first time moving into the second trimester, it's soo exciting!!

Oh, the chronic exhaustion leaves?  LOL  I can't wait for that.  I remember 'hazily' (having been through this four times before) that the nausea and exhaustion leaves in the next few weeks I think.  I am looking forward to that.  Still have it here.  Sigh.
