Healthy Habit contest sponsored by Intimina - Page 2

I just "liked" Intima on FB.

A healthy habit that I think is good for children and parents alike, besides eating healthy foods and exercise, is to start off the day singing and end the day listing 3-5 things that you felt good about or enjoyed during that day.  It keeps a positive attitude which is important and reminds us to be thankful for each day.  It also teaches us that no matter what obstacles or trials we had during that day, that we can always find something to be positive about.

You can eat as healthy as you want but if you aren't happy with yourself or life, what good is it?...

Oops - typo, I meant Intimina

I like Intimina on FB!

We do green kefir smoothies in the morning to go with our kefir soaked pancakes.  I love knowing that we're all getting a healthy dose of friendly bacteria along with our super delicious, nutritious breakfast!  The kids love it, too :)

all these habits are great so far, my BEST is purchasing a CSA (community supported agriculture)- a box of fresh local produce once a week during growing season... it forces me to eat more veggies and find creative uses for whats in season.  Healthy for me, my family, the farmer, and the environment!!

My healthy habit to share is to use fresh milled wheat.  We use it in bread, pancakes, oatmeal cookies, pizza dough.  Complex carbs keep the kids tummies full longer and increase their energy. Ad some cheese and fruit and we are good to go!

I've found it's important to allow yourself to mess up whatever plan you may be on and start over again. Also, taking whatever you time you have to exercise or pamper yourself- whether it be five minutes or an hour- is worth it. Don't short yourself because you think it's not enough time to "count."

I liked Intimina on Facebook! What a great product, I'm going to have to buy it if I don't win!

My healthy habit is using my 6 month old baby to exercise. Rather than using him as an excuse for why I don't have time to work out, I just incorporate him into a routine! I do 4 exercises:

1. Lie on my back and "benchpress" him- sounds crazy, but it's a great arm workout!

2. Crunches with him lying on my chest.

3. Lie on my back and do left lifts with him on my shins.

4. Go for a brisk walk pushing him in his stroller.

I enjoyed reading through the excellent suggestions.  Intimina, I appreciate your product and the health-promoting focus of your contest!

The best healthy habit I'd like to share:   gratitude and a forgiving spirit spoons your physical, mental and spiritual life a most healthy elixir : )   Gratitude and forgiveness are developed by ongoing attention and effort, much like training to gain proficiency, power and endurance for a sport.

Drink and be with water as much as possible, cut out wheat, barley, rye & sugar, cut your meat & dairy consumption down to 5% of your food intake/day
and of course... try to
LOVE UNCONDITIONALLY :)
Yourself, your family, even those you cannot stand.
Love cures all (or at least makes things easier!)

NEVER think or say ANYTHING to YOURSELF that you WOULD NEVER SAY TO SOMEONE ELSE.
If you couldn't be so mean to someone else (you are so fat, your stretchmarks are disgusting, you are a failure) do not be so mean to yourself!

My healthy habit is to take 5 minutes each day to appreciate ONE thing in my life that I am grateful for. It could be a simple as the growing basil in my backyard or the 1 paragraph I wrote for my book, or a picture of an old friend. Remembering EVERY DAY the beauty in life and nature helps me relax, keep focus and enjoy life more.

I cut down my soda habit big time by making a big pitcher of herbal tea every morning. Many flavors, like mint or apple cider, are sweet enough on their own and don't need extra sweetener. I try to drink the whole thing during the day, which ensures that I'm very hydrated. And when I'm not feeling good, I can make medicinal teas and get better at the same time!

My healthy habit is to eat my veggies first--that way you don't get tempted to snack on other things and end up skipping the salad.  Bonus points if the veggies are from a CSA. :)

My healthy habit to share is to have a laugh before even getting out of bed in the morning; it makes a world of difference.

I gave up all refined sugars and dairy, I've never had more energy!

I started my favorite healthy habit back when I was 16 and on the verge of getting a driver's license. I vowed to still use my bike as a regular means of transportation. 15 years later my hubby and I still use bikes to commute to work, go to the library, grocery shopping, and exercise with our friends and family. It's a sustainable choice which not only keeps us active, but gets us closer to nature and our neighborhood, while reducing our energy footprint. I'm looking forward to having our family expand and having them ride with us.
