9 months!

I like these, sue me.

I know not everyone does the 9 month WBV - we only did because my doc kept thinking he had a shot to get (he didn't!) and eh. Might as well!

So! Charlie!

Birth: 9lbs 14oz, 21.5? I think. I'm old now, I forget.

At 6 months he was 20lbs, 6oz and she measured him at 30 inches, but we both think that was a screwup ;)

Today! At 9 months 3 days:

23lbs 6oz, 30 1/4 in.

She measures him by laying him on the paper sheet thing on the table and drawling a line at the top of his head and then pulling a leg straight and doing a line at the heel and then measuring between the lines.

When our nurse did that type of measurement, I thought she was genius, LOL!

Funny how they don't grow in weight as much from 6 - 9 months, huh? I'm taking River on Monday and I wouldn't be surprised if he is the same weight as 6 mo.

Also, that 6 mo height measurement has to have been wrong. Even just knowing Charlie through pics online, I can tell he's grown in height over the last 3months.

Me too! The 2 WBV we did in Austin they used a measuring tape, so when we had to get check out in GA for something and they measure Mags that way I thought it was absolutely brillant!

Mags hasn't his 9 months yet, but I weighed her a few days ago and she was 16 lbs- such a shrimp!, but I was only 14lbs at a year, so she gets it honestly smile.gif

I think Charlie & River are the same size!

At birth: 10lbs even , 21 1/2 in tall.

At 9 months:

29 3/4" tall,  23lbs, 11 oz

It's a good thing I don't own a scale, or else I wouldn't even have a need to go into the well baby visits at all.  I look forward to seeing his measurements the most!  I get all his shots on our own schedule and usually just do a nurse visit for these. Our ped is a little kooky and doesn't really *do* anything for us except act surprised that we are still breastfeeding. Oh well, if a GIANT chunk of my paycheck is going to that HMO, then I guess I better utilize it!

I guess so!

Mine is so good, I wish everyone had a doc like mine.

I'm impressed you're still breastfeeding as well. That much pumping is real commitment. :)

We had our WBV today! She was 9 months yesterday. 90% percentiles all around.

Head 17.5"

Length 28.5"

Weight 21.5lbs (8lbs 2oz at birth)

dh is very dismayed he is going to have to give up the chicco keyfit for his car!  he has a 2 door and it is much easier to get her in and out of the car with the bucket seat. Weight limit is 22lbs.

Can I just say how much I love her doctor? Zero pressure on vaccinations, one way or the other. We talked about food and she suggested giving her finger foods instead of purees (i.e. BLW!) And she gave us a supplement, Standard Process Ligaplex, for her ligament issues. So I'm really hoping that will help strengthen them.

Okay, tiny baby Malcolm

At birth, 10lbs 4oz, 21.5 inches long

9 months, 27lbs, just a bit over 30 inches long. They measured the same way they did Charlie. Mal is in 18 month size clothes now. Edging in on his sister.

I had a 2 door car when DD was a baby, and honestly it wasn't any more of a pain to get her out of the convertible!  I think it was a little easier!
But we did have to upgrade the car when I got pg w/#2.  There was no way we could do a convertible seat AND a bucket seat back there!  LOL!

Ha!  Big boy!!!

I really have to get my little stinker in for his visit  -- but we all keep getting sick.  I hate going to the dr when we're sick!

Finn at birth : 9 lbs, 21" ? head (mw didn't do it)

6 months:  21 lbs, 28.5" long!  His head is 17.25".

9 mo visit: 25 lb 4 oz, 31" long (!!!), 18" head

So - yeah, incredible visit.  I'm looking for a new pediatrician!!  Not only did I get a really wonderful lecture about vaccines, but was told I should be slowly retracting DS's foreskin (um, NO!).  He also said Finn keeps getting ear infections b/c he is "under vaccinated" and that if I ever call in the middle of the night b/c DS has a fever, he'll send me to the hospital for all kinds of scary tests including a spinal tap b/c I'm taking a huge risk by not vaxing on the schedule.  I let him finish his schpiel.  Then I said I would only be getting 2 vaccines that day.  They really can't scare me and I'm over the holier than thou complex all the docs at this practice seem to have!!  Cuss.gif

Anyway, he also got his 2nd prevnar and his 2nd polio vaccine and cried and was mad at me for a bit.  But I nursed him and all was forgiven, and he slept like crap last night to make me pay for it all.

WTF!!!!??? I know some docs can be stern about vaxing, but that's just an outright lie about it correlating to ear infections!

You should seriously send his office some 'when intact, don't retract' brochures. Or the link to the AAP's page on foreskin: "But foreskin retraction should never be forced. Until the foreskin fully separates, do not try to pull it back" So sad :(

At least you found out about his crazy now when you don't really need a doctor's support, so you can find one now that supports you for later if you need it.

Love it when drs treat people as if they are all children! sigh.

The redness has faded away, the swelling is gone, and he no longer seems in pain. Still going to report it and see what they say. My gut tells me to wait with this one, and then do it by itself when it comes time.

I know, Tina...tho I've known they are crazy since...forever. I just keep putting up with their crap. I'm looking for a new one but the options just aren't promising.

Carrie it was that kind of snotty attitude by the Pedi that made up our mind to just stop going. We ran a month late with all of DS1's WBVs so he was 13 months at the 12 month visit. We got so much pressure to give multiple vax and I was 8 months pregnant at the time too. They wanted to give him the Chickenpox vaccine when I've never had the illness or the vax (not legal in the UK) and told me I should get a blood test to see if I was immune just so they could give him a vax he didn't even need. I got so many lectures about the flu vax too which I kept refusing. Then when they started on the MMR and I asked if it was possible to do them individually you would have thought I had summoned Satan from the depths of Hell from her reaction. At the end of the visit they were all sweet as pie and making sure we got booked for the 15 month WBV. Once we got home I told DH I was never going back. I'm just glad he was with me that day and saw for himself how much the Pedi was trying to bully me into doing what she wanted.

We haven't been back near a doctor since. We just told them we were moving, which was true and we would get DS1s records transferred to our new Pedi. We haven't even started looking yet, almost a year later. I think we're going to try to find a family doctor instead, when we actually get around to it.

Why do these doctors have to behave like they are the only ones who know anything?
