We didn't have a changing table with #1, but did get one with #2 - a simple one with just 2 big shelves.  It worked so much better than using the top of a small chest, in terms of storage of our cloth diapers.  I have baskets underneath with inserts, covers, diapers, prefolds, etc.  I like the height and it's easier than changing on the bed for me.

PP cloth: as a midwifery student I have seen a lot of midwives recommend disposable pads for the first few days or couple weeks of postpartum bleeding. The reason being is that sometimes bacteria can linger in washable pads and can cause a possible life threatening uterine infection. For a lot of moms it's best to use disposable pads until your womb has closed. That said though, if someone is very scrupulous and aggressive about washing and sanitizing their disposable pads, it shouldn't be a problem to use cloth from the beginning. I am planning on using cloth this time, but I am buying/sewing a brand new stash.

Oh, I didn't know that, thanks! I don't think I will be in the mood to be scrupulous and aggressive :) I'll also find out what my midwives recommend.

That's so sweet! I love it!

Thyme Mama- I love that you are updating your list for us. It's nice to live vicariously through you. orngbiggrin.gif

Also, I'm loving everyone's lists! We're pretty minimalist and this is our last babe so all I've bought is a carseat and more newborn prefolds. If it's a girl I'll by some clothes (though I'm sure I'll be flooded with pink from MIL eyesroll.gif) and if it's a boy, probably not much.

So yeah, I'm loving all that everyone else is buying! How exciting!

I am thrilled that we hardly need anything for this babe. Except a new car/van, which I guess is a pretty big ticket item. Hopefully we can find a nice used one.
We had two of a lot of things from the twins, so we are in good shape even though we have given a lot of stuff away. I co-lead our local babywearing group, so I'm swimming in carriers smile.gif
Eventually, I'd like a new highchair, probably a simple ikea one. We were gifted big, complicated highchairs for the girls and i hated them (didnt fit at the table, pain to clean). Also, if this is a boy, we'll need some more gender neutral or boyish clothes eventually, and maybe I'll swap some of my pink diapers out for other ones. We have quite a few plain things that will be fine for the newborn stage though.
