Getting rid of subforums

I know we've talked about this in TAO, but are you planning on consolidating some of the subforums? I think there are way too many, and you'll definitely get more people posting if there are fewer forums.

It's still under discussion but we do plan to consolidate some, yes. :)

May I suggest you start with some of the less busy and less controversial ones?  Such as media?

I would like a poll (as I posted in the vac thread on PRO)-I would like to sub forums addressed as well as other topics

a few questions I would like to know answers to are-

should mothering host discussions for minority views in the subject of....?

what percentage should decide the outcome- 2/3 or simple majority?

I feel a poll (sent directly to members) would be the fairest with only one vote per member

personally I feel mothering should reflect the true ideas of it's membership and the ideas expressed by the majority of users for their benefit

the recent hostility (vac section) is such a turn off and I question (and assume others most as well) who is this for? majority or slim minority to bark at others- so many have said- doesn't feel safe- it this the true belief here or not?

Sorry for the delay in reply serenbat. We'll consider running a poll and community input thread on these topics and other things, especially the subforums. Thanks for the suggestions.
