The first thing I do everyday is go out in the sunshine and water all of our seedlings, plants and garden. It feels so good to begin the day outside!
CrossFit can be pretty intense. It focuses on a lot of heavy lifting although it can all be modified. I would definitely talk to your midwife or OB before starting. I think that all women, including pregnant women, can lift (and lift heavy) safely but it is all relative to each person's abilities. If you do choose to start up at a CF gym, make sure it's designated as a CrossFit affiliate gym as the trainers are specifically trained at how to properly teach it. Versus at a regular gym with a Crossfit class which isn't certified and can do more damage than good. Just my two cents.
But if you want to just start basic CrossFit moves - focus on push ups, proper squats, lunges, sit ups (if you can still do them) and plank positions. Use a chair for any of the movements if you want to start easier and move into it.
I can already feel the differences in my body so I don't know for how much longer I'll do the running portions of CF. And there are certain movements like burpees, where your stomach is flush with the ground, where I feel uncomfortable. To each their own. :)
Definitely though in the worse case scenario, check out a CF gym after baby arrives. There are always LOs in the gym while their moms work out. It's quite empowering to see so many moms ready to jump back in, get strong, get agile, and get mobile again! Even a couple weeks after birth!
cheers & good luck. Any questions you want answered, always feel free to message me too. :)
