I just made an appointment for a month from now with a hospital-based CNM group.  I've doula'd with them, and really like them.  I definitely plan to find out the gender.  I'm kind of hoping for a girl, but will be happy if it's a boy...I just need to find out ahead of time!  We were TTC, but I feel so blessed that we caught the egg our first month trying.  I am so excited about another little one, but feel worried because I found out so early.  I haven't even missed my period yet!  I hope everything goes well.

Team blue or pink? honestly as long as it's healthy i don't care. i feel like it's a boy but i'll be pleasantly surprised if it's a girl.

Earliest symptoms? feeling very HOT, hungry and tired.

Surprise or TTC?  it was our first month ttc and it was a surprise that it happened so quickly!

what else? my first appointment is on the 18th and i'm very anxious. we specifically tried to conceive for a baby born in jan/feb/march to fit best with my work schedule (i'm a photographer, and my busiest months are spring/summer/fall) and i'm real stoked everything cooperated. here's hoping the summer weather cooperates for my shoots over the next few months, too! my best friend had a baby a week ago, so i'm excited to hopefully be joining her with a baby soon.

This last year we have made a LOT of changes in our life. September 2011 we moved into a new (to us) home, right around the corner from family! This house is twice the size of our old house, and it is older (built in '74) but we LOVE it!! We are out in the "country" now, whereas we used to live in the Suburbs. Since moving, we have drastically changed our eating habits (for the healthier!) and I started exercising. I lost 30 lbs in 7 months! We joined a new church, which I have loved, and I have seen God working in our lives SO much these last few months. I am so looking forward to this pregnancy. :)

Welcome everyone!

Lauren, that's cool that you have a Judah too!  I don't meet to many of them around here.

Holly, I am so, so sorry about your son.  I can't imagine. hug2.gif  I'm glad you are here, though.

Name: heather

EDD: 2/5 or so

Kids: 2 boys, O - 6.5, V - 3.5
Hubby: D, married 15 years

Planning on my 2nd home birth.
Live in Hawaii!

I actually kind of want another boy. But a girl would be cool too (although I dread the teenage years).

Symptoms: sore breasts, acne, interrupted sleep, vivid dreams, got a freaking hemorrhoid already! Seriously?? Yeah, I figured if I wasn't pregnant then my body was playing a mean joke.

We were trying, got blessed the first cycle.

This will probably be our last as well. I homeschool and am loving that. We own our own business which is great but can also be super stressful at times. I love being home with my kids but we get to town a couple times a week to play with other kids.

Looking forward to getting to know you ladies!

Name: Jamie

EDD: Best guess about Feb 4, not sure of dates but felt implantation May 22

Number of kids/partner: DH and 2 boys (aged 6 and 3)

General location, if you want to share: KY

Hospital or home? Home

Team blue or pink? A girl would be nice but those are rare in my husband's family. Team yellow means won't be checking right? I doubt I'll check, hard to get an u/s when seeing a homebirth midwife around here, or UP'ing, as I may be until I figure out whether we're moving or not and thus who to hire.

Earliest symptoms? Trouble staying awake during the day, getting hungry early then being full after a couple bites, round ligament pain.

Surprise or TTC? Big surprise, I got an infection which made fertility timing and symptoms go funny (hence in the unsure dates). Our philosophy was another wouldn't be the end of the world but we're really glad our kids don't outnumber us. So much for that.

Haven't told DH yet, I'm afraid he'll freak out. Also he's interviewing for a promotion and if he gets that we'll move so things are so up in the air right now. I want to wait but don't know how long I can keep it to myself! Ideally, he gets the job (with the 12k/yr raise and certainty of what we're doing next), then I tell him. But...that could take weeks and I think he already suspects.

EDD: February 8th 2013

Number of kids/partner: 2 kids: DD who is 3, and DS who is 2. I have a DH who've I've been married to for 2 years, together for 6.

General location, if you want to share: Anchorage, AK

Hospital or home? It's between a birth center or home birth, leaning towards home
Team blue or pink? We're leaning more towards team pink since our DD wants a little sister SO bad, but it really doesn't matter.
Earliest symptoms? I have had NO symptoms other than -wanting- to be pregnant.
Surprise or TTC? TTC

Name (screen name or real): Teles

EDD: according to online calculators, Feb 7

Number of kids/partner: Husband of more than 2 years but no other children

General location, if you want to share: Nova Scotia

Other things you could include, depending on how much you want to share...

Hospital or home? Hospital (I'm lucky to live around one of the best children's hospitals)

Team blue or pink? I'm voting pink, DH is voting blue, but we're both happy either way

Earliest symptoms? Sneezing all the time, mini nausea fits, sleeping every chance I get, tender breasts, acne, beautiful fingernails, hair growing like a wild beast

Surprise or TTC? TTC since January

I'm nervous to join this group because I had a m/c on May 3 and didn't have a cycle between that and this. It's hard to believe the two little lines and it makes me want to pee on sticks constantly for reassurance. I'm not telling anyone until we at least see a heartbeat, so this group will be a nice way to work through my cautious excitement.

Congrats to all of you!

EDD: Jan. 29, but I went two weeks past with my DD, so I'm thinking Feb.

Number of kids/partner: 1DD who is 2 1/2 and my high school sweetheart, now husband

General location, if you want to share: Pittsburgh
Other things you could include, depending on how much you want to share...this wasn't planned and I had a miscarriage in the fall, so I'm feeling really cautious at the moment. I honestly haven't even thought about finding a doctor or midwife yet. However, I had an unplanned c-section for my DD, and would love a vbac. I used hospital based midwives the last time.

Number of kids/partner: This is our first!!  We've been married for almost 4 years

Like I said before, this is our first.  I'm still sort of in shock.  I just went off birth control two months ago and I don't really think we were expecting it to happen so soon- but I'm sooooo excited!!!  Now I just have to figure out a creative way to tell hubby when he gets home from work in 3 hours.  I have no idea how my birth is going to go yet- my plan is to have a midwife in a hospital, but we'll see how it goes- this is all so new!  Can't wait to get to know you ladies better (c:

This will be our 2nd homebirth :)

my gut right now says girl, but that may change- and if i get my way we won't be finding out

last monday, which was at most 7-8 dpo, i was cramping, nauseas, and tired. - since then i've added thirsty, crazy hungry, and dizziness - first positive test was yesterday, it was weird having so many symptoms and negative tests. though there was a super crazy near invisible line on my test thursday too..

we were not trying/not preventing as of this cycle - but i had wacky cycles (long, late O, super short 6-7 day LP)  so we didn't expect it to happen so easily and quickly.

I would LOVE to have a water homebirth, but we shall see.  DH is not on board with this.....yet.  Otherwise, it will be with a midwife in a hospital like my first.

I honestly do not care what gender we get, as long as it's healthy!!!  My earliest symptoms are slight nausea, extreme bloating and sore breasts.  We had been

TTC for the past 3 months.  SOOO excited and I am happy to be here!

For a group of so few, it's pretty cool that 3 of us are from Missouri (2 at least in the same town!!!)
