Umm, hospital birth, too wimpy to do it at home!  I have been dealing with secondary infertility since the birth of our youngest.  I had been taking clomid, and was on round four when we concieved.  I didnt' think it had worked as I hadn't been ovulating, but then I got really tired, and sick to my stomach.  Started testing 10 dpo and got positive tests!  I am so excited.  I did hypno babies with my youngest and have to find someone to borrow it from again, as it helped so much.

As of right now I'm due Feb 8th...DS was 2/1/08 :)

This is my second...DH and I have been married 7 years.

Living in North Carolina

This one will be a hospital Birth due to having a blood clotting disorder

I am feeling girl, but it may just be because I really want it to be a girl.

Been feeling nauseous since just before I found out...much more than I did with DS.

We weren't preventing or trying.

Hi everyone!

I am a 31 year old single lesbian mama by choice. This is my 3rd pregnancy, but my first baby for ME! I had two little girls as a surrogate and the girls are now 8 and 7 years old! So, it's been a loooong time since I've been pregnant! The girls are very excited for their baby brother/sister (we are like a chosen family now). But no one is as excited as me!

I live in Toronto, Canada but I grew up in Central Pennsylvania.

Due February 10, 2013 and looking forward to seeing what raising an Aquarius child brings! I'm really, really hoping for a girl.

Aiming for a home birth with my midwife. :)

Name: Winona
Due date: feb 4
First pregnancy, with my wonderful husband of almost 8 years.
We live in East TN.
Hoping and planning for a home birth with a midwife.
I think we both secretly want a boy (I dont do pink), but we would love a little girl too;)
Symptoms so far are fatigue & bloating. We heard the heartbeat on Friday. Very exciting.
We were trying, but thought it would take longer - pleasantly surprised!

Lots to learn in the next 7 months!

I'm Karli, 28 (for only a few more weeks), pretty sure my EDD is 2/21, but I have a dating ultrasound 7/13 to get a better idea.

My DH and I got married a week before I found out i was pregnant with our first (January 2011). I have a 9 month old, Corbin, who came arrived a month early, VERY FAST, and with Down syndrome, so I am hoping to have a much less shocking birth experience this time. Since I delivered Corbin within 20 minutes of arriving at the hospital, this one might be born in the car on the way there. I'm in Anchorage, AK and had a bad experience with one of the two birth centers here, and the other one just didn't feel like a good fit for us. I'll just (briefly) labor at home and head in when it is show time (in theory).

We were TTC, and I have had very, very few symptoms. Just exhausted. So, so exhausted. Glad my baby naps often and STTN!

Not telling anyone until we have lots of genetic testing done this time. We want to make sure this baby doesn't have a life-threatening trisomy, since my risk increased after DS.

EDD: I have no idea. somewhere in February though.

Number of kids/partner: this pregnancy makes 3. I have a 2 1/2 year old, an 8 month old, and this one OTW

General location,: South Carolina

Hospital or home?  Team blue or pink? Earliest symptoms? Surprise or TTC?  Tell us what matters to YOU.

Much as I'd love a Homebirth, this will likely be a hospital birth. I successfully VBAC'd 8 months ago. I already have a boy and a girl . . another girl would be easiest, as I have a ton of clothes. I got rid of most of my oldest's newborn things. But I'd love another boy! so we are ok either way.

This baby was a shock. I just found out today. DH doesn't even know yet. Early symptoms? Exhaustion. milk supply is lessening a bit, but I hope I can keep it up. A little dizzyness. (that could be the shock) a cold I can't shake and no one else has it. Coffee tastes too bitter to me (this was true for both of my first pregnancies - and my first "real" clue)

Karli and I have babies from the same DDC, so it'll be fun to share this ride with her again.

Hospital or home? Home if I am approved

Team blue or pink? Hoping for blue, but healthy baby is number one choice!

Earliest symptoms? Sore breasts and runny nose

Surprise or TTC? TTC when we got married on May 7th and found out we are pregnant last week.

Other things you could include, depending on how much you want to share... This will be our 3rd home birth. First was in the hospital. We are not finding out the gender. I would love to have a sister for my daughter, but would be just as happy to have another little boy!

I'm totally late to this, but whatever. My name is Amber, I have four kids Jezriel, Tallulah, Malachi and Gunther so this will be my fifth child. I am due Feb 21 with my FOURTH boy! I love my boys but my daughter was so hoping for a sister, she handled the news of another brother well though and told me wisely that this was just how our family was meant to be, and I totally agree! I have been married to my husband Jeremiah for almost ten years and we live, at the moment, outside of a tiny town in Minnesota. I have had three unassisted births and one (quick easy) hospital birth with a CNM, I am planning another home birth with this one. My due date was actually a surprise, by the time I got in for a checkup I thought I was around 16 weeks, I had an ultrasound and was actually 21+ weeks, I was pleasantly surprised, I guess my last period (which was very light and short) was not a period! This baby was not exactly planned, we had actually declared our last child our final, but we both had second thoughts so we stopped trying to prevent and...

Welcome to the new DDC members!

Hi ladies!  I'm totally late to this group too!  This being my second pregnancy, I've been enjoying my "me" time, doing lots of things I want to be doing for myself--having a great time, actually!  I'm am only just beginning to really "get into" being pregnant.  Not that I wasn't thrilled when I found out--I was!  I just haven't been focusing much on being pregnant until now.  All the little guy's kicking lately has finally got my attention, haha!

I'm a part-time SAHM with an almost-four year old girl. I live in Western Massachusetts.

I had a home birth with my girl: I LOVED IT! I had a back labor, and still: no problem. I loved my labor.  We will absolutely go that route it again. BIG thumbs up on the power of the birth tub!! I saw a chart where it was rated as equal to narcotics as a pain treatment, and I believe it.

I'm expecting a boy this time!  Due date 2/18/13!!

Looking forward to talking natural baby stuff with y'all.

Amy

You may already know this, but for more fodder to offer your husband in case you don't:  If you're w/in half an hour of a hospital, you're within the ACOG "decision to incision" guidelines.  Meaning, even if you were in a hospital and needed a C-section, it may well take the doctor half an hour to get prepped and ready for you. So, you might as well be en-route during that time, if that were the scenario, right?  When I was (very logically and methodically) researching the homebirth option, that was the "safety" piece of information (beyond the very excellent home birth statistics) that tipped the scales for me. That and the fact that I met with a recommended hospital-based nurse midwife, and she encouraged me to have a home birth.

Symptoms: sore breasts, acne, interrupted sleep, vivid dreams, got a freaking hemorrhoid already! Seriously?? Yeah, I figured if I wasn't pregnant then my body was playing a mean joke....

Heather, first of all, I am so jealous about Hawaii!  Hope you love it as much as I fantasize about it!

Regarding the hemorrhoids: me too!  Gotta tell you one new tip I got from my midwife.  Take a supplement called Horse Chestnut. It WORKS. It strengthens the walls of your veins, including those susceptible "internal vericose veins." If I stop taking it, it comes back w/in a week. If I start, it goes away within a couple of days. Works like a charm!!

Holly, OMG. Healing to you all, and greatest blessings on both of your living children, and on Charlie as well.

Other things you could include, depending on how much you want to share...  A little nervous about how this pregnancy will go, since I'm still grieving the loss of my little boy, but we are so ecstatic to be pregnant again!

Hospital or home? Home, waterbirth!  (4th time doing so)

Team blue or pink?  Pretty sure it's a girl.  We saw a medium a couple of months ago and he said we would get pregnant in May and have a girl.

...

Mandy, my condolences to you and your family.  Love and blessings on the new one, and protection on all of your children!  Blessings to the angel as well.

Cheers on the home, waterbirth!   Us too!
