I don't think i have ever posted a picture here so i am hoping it works. This is 16 weeks (with twins).

I just asked DH to compare my belly to yours, and he says that it looks about the same (as twins). S-o-r-r-y.

Aaaggh!   I'm still hoping it's just extra padding on the outside.  I just tried my hand at measuring my fundal height and I got 13 cm.  I'm sure I'm not doing it quite right, but I don't think I could be off by more than a few cm, and I'm 15w2d today, so I think I'm well within the range of normal for singletons.  I was freaking out before I got out the tape measure because my fundus is right up to my belly button - but I guess I just have a short torso.  I'm 5'2".  My next prenatal is a week from today, so we'll get it sorted out.  But I think we'll hold off on buying a new car until after the 20w u/s ;)  

Are there reasons to find out sooner rather than later?  At what point is it harder to tell whether you have identical or fraternal twins?

Sweetestday - that's a pretty impressive tummy!  Are you feeling strong kicks yet?

Yes, I've been feeling movement since 9 weeks, which makes me think it's a single baby with the dates wrong... unless twins are felt earlier???

Brambleberry, at 13 weeks my fundus was up to my belly button, which is really high for me. I'm 16+2 now and since then it hasn't grown. I can definitely tell baby is growing, I think my uterus stopped to let baby catch up. The movement feels like one baby, I think my uterus just popped up quickly this time because this is baby #5 and my youngest wasn't quite 6 months when I got pregnant. You could have just grown quickly and it may slow down. Or it may be two!

yup- just feeling last night and it was even lower than it has been sometimes over the past weeks.  right around my belly-button at 16+ weeks...  but it's been there for a while.  it popped up out of my pelvis at 8 weeks.  i had a nice grapefruit sized lump for the first trimester whenever i laid down, and now it's a smaller (or not so small) cantaloupe.  just noticed last night that while it's bigger, it's not higher.  my first i measured 2 months large until week 27 of my pregnancy.  my mother did the same thing with all 5 of her kids.  at 14 weeks with my second, had to have an ultrasound b/c i measured at least 4 weeks high (not large, just UP).  she was also NOT twins or later.  my midwife now has a more generous interpretation of my belly, and never seems to worry (though subtle comments like 'well, at this size, if you're not feeling movement already, you should be very soon.' are  hints that i'm a bit bigger).  when my bladder is full, it's lurking somewhere WAY higher.

That said, i still really just look super curvy.  my hips spread, my waist thickened, breasts larger, and belly is not a cute little bulge.  but i expect to carry close and high (like up in my belly and ribcage) since that's all i've ever managed to do!

I don't think there is any point when it's harder to tell if the twins are identical or fraternal. In fact, we dont know at all. They are di-di (seperate sacs, separate placentas) but since they are both girls, there is a chance that they are identical. If it were me, Id want to know just because of the different nutrient requirements and possibilities of complications (GD, Pre-e, Preterm birth, and TTTS). But, I've had a traumatic situation and am just into taking zero risks.

Also, It's worth noting that I felt my son 2 weeks before I felt these twins, and at this point in pregnancy I could feel a TON of movement from him, and not nearly as much with the twins.

Ahhh you girls have lovely little bumps!  I'd post a picture, but have no clue how.  My belly is huge!  15 weeks 3 days with twins and I feel like I'm 20ish weeks due to size.  I feel them move on occassion when I'm paying attention.  Can't wait until they really get active and I can feel them more.

I'm pretty visibly pregnant now and I am starting to feel people stare at me when I walk down the street, but I have yet to have anyone approach me.

I've actually found that people are less interested in talking to me now that they can see that I"m pregnant. In fact, a couple days ago I wiped out (seriously, I skinned both of my knees) on the sidewalk first thing in the morning after the lip of my sandal caught the curb and not a single person even asked if I was okay. I've stumbled a bit on a twig or something pre-pregnancy and found people fussing over me, but now it's like total stranger shut down.

Oh no... sorry about your fall. People start fussing over you again when you get really big... ( front of the line for bathrooms, give you a seat, etc). I cant believe that no one helped you though.

18 weeks 4 days... I think pretty sure I took it on Thursday.  That's my little one hiding behind my belly.
