Oh, that gray is so cute! If I didn't already have two, I'd go for it =P We love ours, but they aren't as cute as the new ones.

the grey one with stars is SO cute.. I am really tempted. I think time is almost up

FWIW, we LOVE our Ergo. We didn't get it until dd was 9 months or so, but it is way better than the cheapy carrier we had when she was small. I've been keeping my eye out for an infant insert on Craigslist so that we can use it from the beginning this time sourness...well, DH will. I love the Moby for the infant stage, but he gets frustrated trying to put it on.

Yay for everyone who got one!  I have a moby, ergo and now a beco as well, and had a friend (BabyEtte) make me a new wrap, and I was still tempted!  lol!  I held strong though.

I didn't end up getting one. now I have remorse!

I have homemade ring slings, hemp jersey wraps, a hemp canvas pouch, and a mei tai... but nothing that's not homemade ... or quite as sturdy or goo for as long of use. I'm really excited to get this!

ilovejeff, I don't think the infant insert is at all needed. All it really is is a very thick blanket that swaddles the baby in it. I used ours from the first month and just balled him up in it with nothing, but DH would just swaddle him before putting him in.

I got an Ergo a while back for 60 bucks. I was thinking about getting an insert too but in the end just decided to put baby in the meitai in the beginning and then eventually switch over to the Ergo.

Me, too- I use a moby wrap for the first months because it makes it easy to support baby's head, and then move to the ergo without insert when s/he's big enough.

just emailed about an ergo sport on craigslist for $30! I hope they get back to me!

Here is a pretty comprehensive discussion of how to spot a counterfeit Ergo. Sadly, there are a lot of them out there, and there is no guarantee that they are safe. Plus, you're getting ripped off if you pay real Ergo prices for a fake!

helpful and timely link- thanks so much! I'm going to meet the lady tomorrow so I will take notes along with me smile.gif

No sweat! Makes me furious that we have to worry about it, so I like to pass on good information.

I honestly never even knew there were counterfeit ergos. that is just weird to me! I bought one second hand once and the buckles never worked properly- it was an older style. I wonder if that was the issue? the buckles popped open when you were wearing it. I never put DS in it. total waste of money! now I have a better idea what to look for.

And thanks to my savvy detective skillz, I just found out the Ergo I have had since 2006 (bought used) is a fake. What a crapper. The fakes were not on the radar back then AT. ALL.  Now I feel cheated, and I can't do anything about it.
