100/month challenge - Jumping into June!

Thread Starter

Well - April was a disaster for me and I somehow skipped May.

SO - Schools out. Clean it out. Get rid of old papers, junked school supplies, dull scissors, markers that don't work, shorts that are too small and that sweet pickle relish from last year!

I started off with about 40 baby items to a friend. I think I've had them since February.

8 clothing items to nice resale shop - 3 piece suit, button up work shirts, really nice jacket. It just doesn't fit anymore.

1 household item and 1 expired fridge item - guess what it was?

50 to go!

How about you?

Who will join me this June for another 100/month challenge?

okay, I'm in.

So far, sold a defunct car for scrap metal and got a little cash besides!

I really need this one. I have so many things I need to clean out, however I will have to start tomorrow as all I have time for tonight is dishes, cleaning the kitchen and making dinner. I hope to be back with something tomorrow.

Mind if I join in? I don't have a lot to de-clutter b/c I did before we moved but I def. have things to get rid of. Perhaps if my youngest will stop clinging to me, I'll do some decluttering today.

Well I decluttered my kids toys. I didn't count how many but I'd venture to say that it was over 100 toys. They filled a big gallon bag. I organized their closet too. I never realized just how many stuffed animals they still have. blush.gif

Yay! I'll join. Thanks for starting this I've been on a tear this month, but I need to stay motivated!

Today I am focusing on my garage.

I've got one old cow mailbox that my husband was going "to do something with" three years ago

2  canvas bags

I collectible doll (yes, I have strange things in my garage)

Three pillow pieces that go with an infant car seat we no longer have

A tin box

2 containers of chalk paint

A bunch of empty wipes containers and other plastic containers (maybe 5)

Snowman kit

Baby monitor set

2 old fluorescent light kits

One of those instant fireplace log things.

Yesterday in the office:

4 books

Last week in the play room/basement:

5 bags of toys (maybe 6 toys per bag) = 30

Three ugly sets of curtains that came with the house

A box of old magazines (maybe eight)

Six empty vitamin bottle containers I found in a drawer (why my husband was collecting them, I don't know)

Last week in the kids rooms

2 baby dolls my daughter has outgrown

1 stuffed animal

There is more, but I can't remember it all off of the top of my head. So, 74/100.

Have to fix a snack for the kids, and then I am hoping to head back into the garage!

Wow--that is great!

The breakfast bar counter is a major catch all for our junk and I cleaned it pretty well today. I didn't count every item but I am going to go with 3 small piles. I'd like to keep this challenging for me, so 3/100. Woo Hoo!

I'm joining in - I have a friend coming for a week in August and I'd like to have my house sparkling and open and uncluttered for their arrival...

1 Large Mason Jar returned to a friend

Ice cream maker to her as well

Sorted through the kids' playroom and came out with a small trashcan of broken items and a large box of unwanted/unplayed with toys

6 books, all returned to friends whom i borrowed them from

3 totes of outgrown kids clothes from both DD and DS - went to my best friend and another friend for their kids

13/100 done

Added

13 children's clothing items.

2 large boxes of Mega bloks that have got to me 200 pieces at least, but I'll count them by the box

Finally got everything from the past week and a half into the car and delivered to the Goodwill this morning (well, except for my son--I'm keeping him).

Handful of trash from family room from one of DDs, many, many bags (this one from B-day in Feb) crammed with really bizarre oddball items and lots of trash.

Calling it 30 to go.

Great job, everyone!

Last night I made a tiny bit of progress.

1 tweezer (that I have always hated and don't know why I have held onto it -- funny how it feels like a big triumph to get rid of something that you don't like, but have held onto forever)

I also dug a picture frame out of a box, put photos into it, and put it on the mantle!

I'm going to ovulate in the next 10 days plus or minus, so it is possible my purging will pick up during my fertile/creative phase.

I found a good article on decluttering,"Why clutter matters and decluttering is difficult"

Made a little more progress last night (doesn't merit a new post).

2 old sponges
2 cans of oven spray (ended up cleaning up my range in the process -- funny how decluttering helps you get stuff done)
1 shower curtain

Well, after Saturday's trip to the Goodwill, I took some time off to catch up on freelance work, and keep up with the kids activities. This is the first week off of school for summer vacation. My little helpers are in full force helping me de-clutter.

So far today, we purged:

3 grocery bags of expired spices and oils from the kitchen. My cabinet looks great now.

2 canvas tote bags

1 tin box

2 baseball helmets that my dad gave my kids and they never use

1 tabletop fountain

1 cat sweater that I thought we already tossed when the original cat died

1 pair of hand me down boys sandals that were too worn to use

1 outgrown girl's bathing suit

1 tape series set my husband was finally willing to let go.

102/100

My new goal is 150, if that is okay with everyone.

coming along very slowly this month. 7 shirts to goodwill.

Of course it was DD's birthday this past weekend so I now have more things than I started out with - presents, extra party food etc.. Yikes!

11/100.

Today so far...

13 CD-ROM Educational games

15 More CD-ROMs

1 Kids workbook

1 set of cloth napkins

1 set of cloth placemats

1 bag of silly bands

1 children's book with CD

135/150
