Names!

Does anyone have any names picked out or in mind for your new babes?

We have the first names set in stone: Isla(eye-la) for a girl and Jackson for a boy. The middle names are both all over the place for both, for girls the front runners are: Mariska, Michelle(after my middle name), and Zoe. For boys we've toyed with Miller for my DH's maternal side of the family, I'm not too crazy about it (or them for that matter...), but his grandpa is dying of cancer and I prefer Miller over Pete/Peter or Lee. We've also talked briefly about Orion, Walker, and Lincoln!

I like Olive for a girl and Oliver for a boy.... this is recent, so most likely will change before baby comes.

Ooh, nice!  I love both Olive and Isla.

I think our girl's name will start with an M, but not sure about boys names at ALL yet.  I like Reid and Tate, though.  With my son, we kept the name a secret from EVERYONE until he was born, and that was a lot of fun.  I think we will probably do the same this time when we decide for real after finding out the gender.  That's why I'm hesitant to say the girl's name...I just like it so much!

We also kept our first born's name, odin, a secret until birth. Some people were a little irritated at us for that but we were really glad we did it that way. Odin is from Norse mythology so his brother also has a Norse name and we'll stick with that for this babe. Middle names are of Hebrew origin.

We've got girl/boy first names picked but still deciding on middles.

Fun!

We have been back and forth quite a bit over names, especially if it's a boy. We both really like Liam but it's getting too popular for us to choose it, and I'm a fan of Eli, Daniel, or Juda but DH doesn't like any of those. DH is Swedish and is pushing for a scandinavian name, but I can't wrap my mind around calling my son Gustov.

For girls it's been a little easier. We've been settled at Elsie for now (I'm told Americans have an association with this name and some kind of cow but I'm canadian and don't), but I also like Claire, Madeline, or Inara.

no freaking clue ..lol  i'd love to have names picked out but my DH won't talk about them until later (he does not like to talk about it, so procrastinates) we had a horrible time picking out a name for #3 ..

we do have a pattern we have to folow though - all 3 of our kids have first and middle names that are family names (family that we know), plus a nick name to go with it.. it doesn't sound that complicated, but we've used up nearly all the girl names on our 2 girls..  we might be forced to branch out if its a girl..

We're going to keep the name a secret as well! We got so much grief over Sylas, that I just don't want to deal with it again. I usually let things slide off my shoulders, but when pregnant, the last thing you want to hear is crap about your babies name lol!

Haha, I think my MIL will throw a fit that we aren't telling her the name, but eh oh well :)! I love you're keeping a pattern, very cool!

All your boy names are adorable! And I'm American and never heard Elsie the cow.. haha! How do you pronounce Inara?

Aww, I like your naming pattern :)! Besides the boys -possibly- having family boy names, our names are all over the place, I wish I had done some sort of name pattern!

Our two sons are Walker Andrew and Errol Stanislaw. Both first names were picked randomly-- Walker from a vintage baby name book my mom gave us and Errol from a NYT crossword puzzle we did one morning when I was pregnant. The middle names are family names-- Andrew was DH's grandpa (and is DH's real first name that he doesn't use) and Stanislaw is my dad's name and was also his dad's name. Sorry for the mouthful kid :). We'll probably keep the name a secret this time around as well-- although I did tell my sister about the names... I think she was the only one let in on it. I like old-fashioned names and will probably do the same this time around. Although if we have a girl we have a name picked out that's pretty out there, but very special to me as a feminist. Middle name will also be a family name, just don't know what!

It's like en-are-ah. In the interest of full disclosure, I first heard the name from the TV show Firefly where the character is a "companion" (their version of an escort) - so I'm not sure if it's the best choice ;) Sounds pretty though.

I love all the names! Theyre so unique

We like Atticus for a boy, its not common and I had my partner watch to kill a mockingbird the other night to set it in stone, a wonderful character

A girl is up in the air still!

Maybe Scout? lol

canadianhippie- I love Atticus, but DH vetoed it years ago.

Boy: Briar Davidson
Girl: Calliope Jane

I told DH that he could pick the names, and these are his selections. I am having no say this time.

I LOVE Atticus as well, but DH doesn't like it.  Sad :(

Alaskan Momma, we have talked about using Sylas before.  I think it's a great name!

Aww, i was reading the top 1000 baby names and Atticus was in the 950's, he came home and my first words were what about Atticus?? and he didnt mind it, its growing on us

I like Briar, very nice and Silas is very unique as well

Im somewhat thinking of Beau for a girl...

its hard sometimes, you name for a child but then  have consider the name on them as a adult

I live Silas, it was one of my front runners last time. Dh didn't like it bc of the kid from weeds, the tv show.

I love Isla and it's a contender on our list.  Atticus was on our list, but DH nixed it.  My top two contenders (which differ from DH's) are Juliet for a girl and Finnegan (Finn) for a boy.  DH's top boy pick is Issac and I can't remember his girl pick off the top of my head.  We have several names on our list though and probably won't end up picking one until after the baby is born.  We had Aria's name picked out well before we were ever pregnant, so I think it would be nice this time around to actually see what name fits the baby. :)

The past two times I've been fixated on a certain letter-- 1st baby HAD to be a W and 2nd I was only thinking about E names. This time around I don't have a letter yet, but am thinking about C and S names. Once I know the sex (we always find out because I'm too curious) I start thinking about names more seriously.
