augustus and augustin are the only boy names i can think of for a boy nickname of "augie".

We considered August for our first born in August and that seemed absurd! I think an Auggie in Feb is just fine.

My sister was in town last night and she, DH and I had a fun time throwing around baby names. Mostly just ridiculous ones that we'll never use but it's good to brainstorm!

I love August, although I think I'd be more inclined to use the nickname "Gus". August Wilson is one of my favorite playwrights and I seriously considered naming DS August, but DH vetoed it.

We are 100% sure of Calliope, and I think we are planning to use it for baby A.

We still havent come up with baby B's name yet- DH is still firmly in the Clementine camp. I still cant move past "Callie and Clemmy" as too-cute twin names.

I love, love, love Ophelia, but DH is super against any name that is associated with any tragedy. That makes things pretty hard.

I also really like the name Ferris, but DH does not.

We're still 99% on Alexander (the 1% is just in case we meet him and it doesn't work)

For female names, I'm officially at a loss. We had a couple of top runners for a while, but it feels like we're back to start again.

We find out the sex on Thursday, so I'm not going to worry about it before then, just in case finding a female name becomes a non-issue.

Boy names, I really don't have any. I still have Lydia for a girl, and I am loving Lydia Jane or Lydia Joy. I think one of those two and we're set for a girl! Probably a boy then, lol!

Carys, Celia, Sylvia, and Louisa were on our list, too! I *love* Casimir and Lewis. We've hopefully finally decided on a name for our little lady. We liked Chloe for a long while but decided it's too popular for us. So, we're loving Margot Louisa currently. Aka Maggie Lou. When we saw her ultrasound the name just popped into our minds and we've been referring to her as Margot or Maggie ever since. My grandma's name is Margaret as is my husband's dear aunt. And my mother-in-law's middle name is Louise. So it's pretty perfect :)

Oooooh. I adore your boy list. Our favorites for boys were Everett, Sebastian, Finlay, Samson, and Theo. Girls were harder. I love Gemma and Sadie! But those were tough sells to my husband. Before we found out boy/girl, we had: Chloe, Celia, Carys, Rose, and Violet on the short list. Ended up "deciding" on Margot, though if she comes out looking like a Celia we'll use that.

jean, i'm real into louis and louisa too!!!

we have our name chosen. first name is 100% set and the middle name is probably 99% certain. we had another we thought we liked for awhile, then the new one popped into my head and my SO was into it (which was surprising to me as it's a bit more 'unusual' and he's pretty traditional).

we haven't told anyone the sex yet, so i'm keeping the name on the DL until we do our reveal in december (at the baby shower). i'd tell, but you can blame poster loveandgarbage for knowing both my SO and i as well as like.. having a billion other people IRL in common and my SO made me promise i wouldn't tell anyone we know. haha

also, i think the name august is great and i'm not a huge fan of "auggie" but i think "gus" is adorable!

and maybej, my favs from your list are gemma, sadie, samson, theodore (teddy!) and liam.

It seems like Louisa and Lucia are becoming more popular. I know quite a few infants with those names.

But Lizz your secret would be safe with me winky.gif. JK, I think that's a great strategy. You'll be able to stop the first onslaught of grossly gendered clothing/toys! It's cool you have the name picked out. Evan is also a tad more traditional with name taste, but sometimes he throws out ones that are just odd. Like today he thought of Jackie and I said "like... Roseanne's sister?"  and he said "no, spelled J-a-c-q-u-i". Where did that even come from?! Also, totally shot that one down.

waywornwanderer, I love Maggie Lou! So cute.

I have a little cousin named Gus. My uncle and aunt have six kids (three bio, three adopted) and he was their last, a surprise. My uncle had been trying to convince my aunt for years to name one of the kids Angus (a family name) so they compromised on Gus which really fits him.

Another name that my mom has suggested is Lenora (Nora for short) which was the name of my grandma's closest sister. My great-grandmother on my other side (who I never met) was named Valeria and whereas I'm not a fan of that, her nickname was Lilka which I'm pretty into. Don't know how my grandma would feel about me naming a daughter after her mother though.

We haven't even started the name conversation, but I did leave two baby name books out on the coffee table. So far our five year old is in love with DustySammy for a boy name. All said together as fast as you can:) He also loves Lucy for a girl. Lucy can be on the table, but big NO to DustySammy.

Austin?

oooh, I just love dustysammy :) Lol.That is too cute. Yesterday Ada told me that her sisters are Callie and Kayla. There will be no Kayla :)

We have finally nixed Clementine. After looking up the exact lyrics to Oh my Darling Clementine and pitching the argument to DH that if I cant use Ophelia because there is tragedy associated with it, he finally agreed to scratch Clementine off our list :) So, officially looking for a name for Baby B.

Our name is a huge secret in real life, but I want to tell someone....so I think we've decided on Molly Rose. That could change, but we're calling her Baby M for now.

Yup, they're pretty dark

Now that we know we're having a girl, the top contenders are Mila or Daniella, but nothing is set in stone yet.

I love Molly Rose :) What a great name!
