I vote for Owl Dinosaur Buddy!   Emmett was one of my top boy names during my first pregnancy.  Then a good friend named her son that.  But I think they spell it differently.  I wouldn't worry about the Twilight thing unless it's making the name too popular.  By the time he's in school Twilight might be ancient history.  But you never know.

I played around on Nymbler.com yesterday and sent my list to DH.  The ones in pink are the ones he liked, so I feel like we are getting somewhere!  I really like Neve all of a sudden too, not sure where that came from!

DH is not sold, but I am really becoming fond of it.

I like Evan but I'm partial to it because that's DH's name! I think it goes nicely with Charles.

MaybeJ, I like Isla and Myra. Una is pretty cool and unique, though. And I don't think you can go wrong with the boy names, either.

I really like Evan and think it goes well with your DD's names!  Evan was a long time favourite but now it's too close to DH's name.

I think this one will be Myra if it's a girl!  It was on DH's list when we exchanged and I immediately gravitated towards it and said - yes, that one!  He's unwilling to commit 100% yet, though.

it's gotten to the point where EVERYONE, including checkout lane people, are asking if we have a name or names picked out yet. we have 5 girl names floating in our heads, but we are keeping everything a secret. why does everyone act so violated if you don't want to share??

Yeah why do people get so offended!? I would never in a million years demand to know anyone's unborn child's name. If it's a close friend/family member I would ask "how are you doing with names?" or something along that line. And if they want to talk about it, great! If not, none of my business.

We've been more open with sharing this time around. We're pretty set on Lou William. So my family and some friends know. We're also pretty sure it will just be Lou, and not Louis.

Just lie and say you don't know, that's what I've been doing.

We're pretty confident that our little one will be called Mila, but I don't want people referring to her with that name until she's born and it's official just in case we change our minds before then, find a name we like better, or meet her and decide that another name is more suited.

Still struggling with a middle name though

We're not telling anyone (and we told them we're not telling them, LOL), and to my surprise, no one is really offended.  Including my mom's family, whom I love, but who is always all up in your business, so that was a pleasant surprise.  I tell everyone they're going to hate the name(s), which may be true-- just trying to prepare them!  And that's a big reason why I am not telling them beforehand, because I figure they'll be at least LESS likely to wrinkle up their noses once it's on a birth certificate.  

Actually, I told mom's family that's why I'm not telling-- because I don't want to hear their BS (I said it in a joking, good-natured way), and my aunt went on about how she hated the name her daughter had picked out for her granddaughter (whom she adores, BTW), and how she made her at least change the spelling, etc., etc.  And everyone chimed in with names they hated, and I was like, "Thank you for proving my point!" And they had to laugh at themselves.

We have been set on the girl's name and nickname (every Filipino has a nickname!) since about 6 weeks, set on the boy's since maybe 10-12 weeks, but we only recently semi-settled on the boy's nickname.  I think it will work.

I LOVE the names, and a LOT of thought went into them (honoring all kinds of relatives, name-meaning significance, cultural whatnot, etc.), but I do joke that I'm ensuring my kid never gets a job interview, b/c both (all) names are very "ethnic."  Oh, well-- that's our family value.

Yeah I am surprised how many people outright ask what names we have picked out. I just say vaguely that we haven't decided yet and probably won't until she is born. Which is true I don't want anything set in stone yet. But I've been pretty sure for the past few weeks now, about Clarissa (Clara for short ). Also not sure on middle name yet.

We shared names we were thinking about with DD1 and EVERYONE had an opinion.... drove me crazy.  We didn't share at all with DD2 and have not really shared at all with this one.  We did tell his middle name (a family name) and since it is a family name, no one gave any opinions other than my grandma, who has an opinion on EVERYTHING!

we thought we had a name picked out but it just never clicked with me, so we went back to the drawing board.

the other night i had a dream that we still didn't have a name picked out for her at birth, but weeks after she was born we were having newborn photos taken and a name just clicked. i woke up and the name made so much sense! hubby likes it too, so it might be the one, although it was never a name we had considered. 

picking a name for another human being is a big deal!

I love Mila, Clarissa and Lou!  Great names! :)

We were very secretive last time and most people were respectful.  This time we're sharing here and there but I won't tell anyone at work.  I don't want to hear any of their opinions!

We're pretty sure the little one in there is either Myra or Logan.  Still working on middle names!

Mama.nesta, I'm also going with the middle name David and feeling good about being done as well. Aram David. We lost a close friend name Dave two weeks ago, and in the middle of some horrible nightmares about his death I had a good dream about being in the hospital, looking at the baby for the first time, and knowing his name. I told my husband in the morning and it felt right to him too.

David is such a great name. It's my DH's name, but long before I met him, I always thought Id name a boy that. When our son was born DH was pretty opposed to it, but we've decided that if we ever have another boy, we'll probably use it as a middle name.
