Revolting- I used to be on meds for it. I haven't taken them since I got pregnant with my youngest. I did tell D H what was happening so he's trying to be here for me

I'm doing a bit better today. I managed to muster energy and enthusiasm to make DD a birthday cake from scratch smile.gif it turned out really yummy.

Mommy2Austin, do you take fish oil at all? That really helped a friend of mine while she was depressed and pregnant. She went off Paxil (and quit smoking) as soon as she found out, as her pregnancy was unplanned. Needless to say, she was a mess doing that. Yummy birthday cake would also help a bit, I would say:D

Okay, so it's June 4th, and it's chilly and rainy here! Only 55 degrees. Yeesh. I want some sun!

Sixties years - wow!  Congrats to them! I can't imagine being 60 years old, not to talk about having a marriage of 60 years!

June's a good month for me too. It's Dh's birthday, and our anniversary as well! 7 years!jumpers.gif

It's the last week of preschool for my little girl. Sooooo...apparently that means 2 ice cream socials (since she has 2 schools). I am only going to have ice cream at one as it's coming from our raw milk farm. the other, well, I'll just have to abstain. I ate way too much that was off my menu, as it was either that or fast. I had asked for GF and DF, as I figured it was a good compromise. I only got the GF part. The food was soaked in butter, which I love, but can't have right now.  I tried to keep mostly in scope, but oy. So yeah, lots of derailment yet to come. This month is also my family's strawberry festival. Lots of sugar EVERYWHERE.

LM, happy birthing month!

Millie Ivy, congrats!

Congrats on the friend's wedding! I would totally eat ice creamfrom a rawk milk farm...yum!

Yum. I'm glad you are feeling better!

Full moon tonight, and in the warm months like this, there is fire dancing and drumming by the lake to celebrate. It's pretty magical, watching the moon rise over the lake that way. I've been trying to find my candle making supplies - I can find the beeswax but not the wicks - I want to make a fertility candle to charge under the moon tonight, but I'm so not having an easy time finding the darn thing. I'll be a bit late to the fire jam, because my daughter has uke lessons and I have banjo lessons on Monday nights, but the jam always start late anyway.

Oh, and while the version we mostly play does not have an orchestra, I play "Calling the Moon" by Dar Williams most full moons for the kids. I love this song.

Happy Strawberry moon, mamas!

Oof! June already? My baby is due at the end of the month, so I'm seriously gearing up for that whole transition. Farmers Market also starts this month. I'm not sure how involved I will be this year, but I'm glad it's almost here anyway. DD will be starting her new gymnastics class, and I'm looking into piano lessons for her for at least the summer. Lots of new beginnings this month!

Lots of babies coming this month! Farmers' Market and our CSA start this month. yummy.gif We went strawberry picking last weekend, but it was just me and the kids: we didn't pick enough to make it worth making jam to can. Oh well.

I had a wonderful time tonight, but man are allergies kicking my butt!

Maiasaura- I'm so sorry about M's job. Ugh the job market sucks. Is it so much to ask to be able to have a steady job that pays your bills and puts food on the table? I have no need to be rich, I just want to be able to take care of my family. Positive vibes and thoughts to M.

I didn't realize it was a full moon until last night when it was staring through the blinds on my window. I'm wondering if the lead up to it was why I was feeling so down and blah. Today I managed a decently thorough cleaning of the major traffic areas of the house.

I'm trying to keep my thoughts upbeat and positive and hope that the universe sends me some really good news soon, just to keep me from losing it.

He did mess up the last job, though, to the tune of 12 pieces and 2-3 days of work. So maybe they just didn't have any patience with that.

Thank you. Your 2nd thought there, that's what M is doing, too, and me.

I know. He is trying so hard to stay out of depression. Plus he has like $50 left in his bank account, and no savings. Thank the gods he paid rent (though I think he's still a month behind, now, because of all this jobless nonsense) and he didn't cancel his food stamps. At least he can eat.

Maia, I'm so sorry about M. The poor guy. I wish I had a job I could give him:(

Anyone else watching the transit of Venus this evening?

Man Maia, that really sucks about M's job..

They ought to be more forgiving than that! Everybody has growing pains when they enter a new job... even if it's in the same field as they were in before. Too bad they lost someone who was willing to do the job. I hope this doesn't hurt M too bad, and he continues to stay away from the alcohol.

Only if the sky clears up. It's solidly overcast here.

Nope. I'm not astrologically minded, except as concerns the Treasure Map.

You would think. But he was getting uber bored with it already. He said he hates running that machine but he was willing to put up with it for the money. Then this afternoon, another agency called with a possible job, and he was right up front. He said right away about his background check and the guy said he'd have to get back with him. At least he won't have to try a new job, yet again, only to get fired a week or a month later.

DS is going on his wilderness camp next week. I am tossing around the idea of going back up to M's mischievous.gif

Every time you mention this I wish there was something like that here.  I've looked into the Pagan group that is in my area but I'm nervous about it.  You have to have a special invite - which I completely understand since it's at someone's home each month - but I'm the kind of person who likes to go to something the first time and watch from afar, leave if I want without some awkward social moment.  I am really socially awkward sometimes because I second guess myself like crazy when I first meet new people.  Guess I still need to work on that "don't-give-a-sh*t" bone that Maiasaura talks about!!

Hugs to M.  Hope all these bumps lead him somewhere that he is happy and the company is happy with him and all is well.  Keeping my fingers crossed and him in my thoughts.

YES.  Get your hiney back up there!  Life is too short and you don't have to worry about childcare.  I mean, if it's all feasible otherwise.  Why the heck not!

Oh, I hope it cleared up for you! We went to the planetarium: not a cloud in the sky. We got to look through a telescope as well as using sun filtering glasses to look at the sun. I've heard you can see the rings, but we couldn't. Oh well. It was cool, and both me and my eldest really enjoyed it. (My two year old was just happy to look at the space ships and play in the kids' area at the planetarium: he couldn't care less about Venus.)

I hope the job pans out. Go go go, mama! Carpe diem or what not!

It's not a specifically Pagan thing. The few Pagan groups I know in the area that are open to the public often don't celebrate the full moon on the full moon, isn't that weird? I don't know: Part of me would like to meet more Pagans, but I definitely have trouble finding stuff that's family friendly. I would totally be intimidated by an invite-only group, too. Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

We haven't had hot water since Sunday night. Ugh. I'm starting to get pretty stinky, but I so don't want to take a cold shower. Maybe it's time for a trip to the beach, lol!

Alright, that's two of you says go up there. I'm convinced lol.gif I just have to wait on ds's martial arts teacher (also the camp teacher/originator/leader) to say "Sure, go ahead". I don't know why I'm bothering-- I went up there last year while ds was at camp. I guess I just worry because he's out in the wilderness and if he gets really hurt, I can't come immediately there.

Probably no worries, though, since I took ds's pocketknife away awhile back and I can't for the life of me find where I hid it eyesroll.gif

M says Thank You all for the well-wishes. He's really touched orngbiggrin.gif He's walking to the library right now. He's about to lose internet for not being able to pay the bill, so he's taking his laptop to the library.

I am guessing that they don't celebrate the moon ON the moon because of work issues. Some people can't get out on workdays for things like that. Our public rituals are rarely ON the day of the holy day, for similar reasons.

I would totally take sponge baths every day. We were out of hot water and electricity for a couple days, a few months back, and thankfully I have 55-gallon drums on my two downspouts, so we could flush and wash things and such, but I totally took short cold showers.

The not-give-a-sh*t-bone-- that was Mary3Mama's, not mine, but I co-opted it-- I think it's the very best idea!

co-opt away!!
My *bone* grows stronger with each passing year.

And that's not to say I'm rude, cranky or lacking compassion -- just that with age and experience it has become easier and easier to leave other people's issues with them and go the way that I believe is right for me. love.gif

Well-- now plans are on hold still, because M might have a job! And here's the good part-- the boss is someone he's worked for before, though years ago. And doesn't give one whit about his background check. His interview is Friday 1pm. Send good vibes, people, please!
