becoming- That is brutal! Yikes! I hope it passes quickly.
I asked one of my midwifes about using an enema during labor. She told me to go ahead if I wanted but to be careful because it would probably really speed things along. She told me to only do one if my bags were packed and the car was ready to go. She suggested I do one at the birth center but I'm not comfortable with that. I was also told to not do a fleet enema but to use an enema bag.
I was reading in Ina May's new book about the bring on the labor techniques that everyone agrees on:
Nipple stimulation
Sex
Sweeping the membranes
Enema or castor oil (my doctor said she does not suggest castor oil as it could give me diarrhea and that would be awful during labor)
My husband and I have both talked out our emotional state and the fact that maybe I've had this long drawn out prelabor because the baby senses that some things have to be worked out before he is born. Yesterday was truly the first day in a long time that I chilled out and dealt with my head space. I know my body is ready but I do need to work out a thing or two with myself before labor is going to happen. Might have to work it out in a matter of minutes!
