Sounds like a pregnancy thing to me. I feel kinda flu-ey too, but I know I'm not actually sick. It's a like a cross between seasickness and a hangover.

ugh, today has been pretty icky.  I just have this mild nausea   all    day    long.  Before I eat, after I eat, while I'm eating.  Not super fun.  Ginger and sea sick bands aren't helping.

Tired.  Tried to take a nap today and succeeded for about 2 minutes before the kids noticed I was laying down and came to ask me for food or something.  DH is at work today, so maybe I'll get a nap tomorrow.

I bruised my heel the other day (standing too long?  shoes that used to be comfy are too old and worn out?) so at least I have an excuse to be resting and staying off my feet.

Fruit sounds good.  And ice cream, though I don't usually do dairy because it makes me nauseated!

All of my pregnancies I've craved albacore, which I know we're not supposed to eat frequently, so I have to space out my sandwiches or sushi or whatever I do with it.  It's been a while, though, so maybe I'll do that for dinner tonight.

i think that sounds like a pregnancy thing, i'm feeling the same way and then some..  I've felt like i'm pregnant plus a stomach virus for the past 4-5 days but i haven't actually thrown up yet.. i've come so so close but i'm just not letting it happen, i know i'll just be hungry again..

I am feeling full blown horrible these days. (6 wks 5 days) - this is earlier than i've felt this sick with other pregnancies . so i'm keeping my fingers crossed this will peak earlier and be done earlier.. a girl can hope, right?  i've found if i watch what i eat, more protein, more nuts, more beans - less wheat/bread/crackers (which seems to upset my stomach with this pregnancy) .. i feel a tiny bit better..   sugar also makes me feel better, sugar in the form of mandarin oranges (packaged in 100% juice, can't stand the 'light syrup' ones) i guess there are worse things..  soda always made me feel better in my other pregnancies but i'm not going to go there since i quit soda back in october of last year..   i think i need to find some granny smith apples..

I could not get off the couch yesterday. I took a nap and layer down on the couch all day. This morning I was feeling super nauseous and dry heaved a few times..... dd1 has a fever, so there may be a virus working through the house. Just generally icky

The pregnancy fog is setting in for me. I am exhausted ALL. THE. TIME. Nausea comes in waves. I just started taking ginger supplements in the morning to help with that.

I feel absolutely and completely useless. I feel like all I've done all weekend is think about what I wanted/needed to get done.

Cravings: fruit, fruit and more fruit. And carbs, which seem to be the only things that don't make me feel too sick.

This is the exact reason I joined this forum! I can't believe how much pregnancy is affecting my body this early on!

I'm tired. And hot. And nauseous. And want to eat nothing but sour straws all day.

Are these things working for you? I have been wearing seabands for two weeks and have these constant circular holes in my wrists. I'm afraid to take them off lest the REAL nausea kick in! I'm curious about the protein shakes - any particular brand? It's hard to find one without soy...

Boy oh boy - I am so HAPPY to be pregnant but it is hard work being a working mama who feels like so tired and nauseous:)

The protein powder I use is a plain flavor made from only rice. I mix it with frozen berries in a smoothie and it's great. A little bit of a chalky texture but I don't mind it. It's made by nutribiotic. I'm also using the seabands but can't really tell if they're working.
And I'm also craving carbs, which is unusual for me. I always crave fruit during pregnancies, but I usually feel the need for protein as well. Not so much this time at this point.

DS2 absconded with my seabands a couple of weeks ago and they have yet to be found. I'm not feeling the seasickness sort of MS, just feeling ill to my stomach which is different for me so not sure if seabands would even help. The protein shakes I used to buy were at Trader Joe's-- I need to swing by there to see if they still have it. I had no sugar, I remember that much.

Yesterday I spent the entire day on the couch.

Now at 7 weeks I just have a touch of nausea in the morning when I wake up with an empty belly, which is usually cured by eating right away, and also the feeling that I need to eat a meal every 2 hours or I will famish. It's really bizarre, I feel like a toddler who needs to eat constantly. I also noticed my normal addiction/craving for dark chocolate has completely vanished. It's really bizarre. I actually don't even think about sugar much at all. Last pregnancy I craved potatoes all.the.time. and I've noticed this is starting to kick in again. Maybe it's a lack of potassium in my diet?

I'm also amazed at how much I am showing already! I seriously can't keep this a secret too much longer (at least from people who know me and see me regularly). It's kind of funny, even my belly button is noticeably bigger!

I cannot get any relief from throwing up, the midwife said if i need a prescription, i can have it...but i didnt want to take prescription drugs....is it harmful?

Much like all of my pregnancies, I cannot stand to have my nipples touched.

I'm hungry much of the time, but can hardly eat.

So far, no real morning sickness... it doesn't always start this soon, though.

I'm pretty emotional, but I think a lot of that might be the grieving process as I'm still pretty fresh into it.

That's pretty much it.

All I want to do is sleep and cry and eat bagels.

I just had a serious love affair with sour cream.

Here is a list of the studies done on drugs/vitamins used to ease nausea during pregnancy.  Zofran (most commonly used IMO) is used very frequently with bad nausea, and although it has not been proven safe because it is unethical to do controlled drug studies on pregnant women, it is generally considered safe by the medical community.  I would ask your midwife for any pros/cons that she can think of.

This is just my opinion, but if I were throwing up 6+ sessions a day like you mentioned up-thread, I think I would take it without hesitation.  There may be some risks, but a mom who can't keep food down or take care of herself is a risk to baby too.  Especially when you already have a little one to care for!  Good luck with whatever you decide...I hope you find some relief soon!

I was against prescription drugs during pregnancy until I had such bad heartburn with DS2 I couldn't eat. With this pregnancy I am also taking zantac as well as prilosec. I can't imagine my quality of life if I wasn't on them. I know Zofran is a lifesaver so many women and wouldn't hesitate to take it if I was as sick as you are. Hope you feel better soon!

thanks so much! Diclectin is the only medication deemed safe in Canada for morning sickness, so its the only prescription option for me

I am shocked, I woke up feeling like i needed to run to go puke, but tried the crackers before you get up routine, and this is the first day I havent thrown up in weeks!!! I think it worked, i was feeling sick later in the day but since I wasnt throwing up, i had good hunger and ate well, i hope this works instead!

Today was the first day I felt good in my pregnancy, so yay joy.gif

Good news!!

I'm having totally different MS this time around. I usually feel seasick/dizzy/woozy and that causes the nausea. But this time the nausea is starting in my stomach. I wake up feeling okay, but throughout the day when I eat I have the worst stomachache. It's worse if I don't eat though, of course. And my stomach is like, pulsing. It's like I have five hearts in my stomach and they are beating heavily if that makes sense. Is that normal? Has anyone else experienced this?
