Sego-I had no idea you were that SegoLily!!! I live Utah and am such a fan of Sudbury schooling...how neat!!

Kel and sego-I know nothing about restful nights, lol, my babes are 5, 3, and almost 2 so yeah, I just don't remember what a good night's sleep is all about

We had these roasted tomatoes with fresh thyme last night, and DH shaved some great parmesan cheese on top, and since then it is ALL I have wanted. But I really don't feel like running to the sore as we picked and ate our first round of Early Girls...I cannot wait until our Mr. Stripeys come in I am going to climb a tree and EAT THEM ALL.

darkblue, that sounds delicious. I've been dipping plum tomatoes into goat chevre. I could eat it all day

We just got back from out first camping trip of the summer season. We're all looking forward to camping with the new baby next summer. We used some badger balm that has EO's for bugs, and it worked great.

Tropicana, glad your bloating is better.  No worries on the TMI, that's what we're here for!  Digestive troubles are the pits.  I've definitely had my share this time around.  It's getting to the point where I don't like being out long, in case of a potty emergency.  Plus, I went on a fiber extravaganza at home to help my LO in that department, so it's been on my mind lately.  Here's what we've been eating:

Fig Newmans with peanut butter

Cranberry Walnut Tabbouleh-I can share the recipe on the other thread if anyone is interested

Spicy sesame noodles that my sweet friend shared with us

Tons of blueberries and peaches-in fact, I'm thinking of making a crisp tonight with vanilla frozen yogurt and caramel sauce.

Unfortunately, I STILL have yucky sour mouth every time I eat.  If I don't chew gum or brush my teeth immediately after eating its especially terrible.  With DD2 I had metal mouth for a couple of weeks, but this is never ending!  During the day, the nausea is still much better though.  How is everyone else feeling?  Symptoms letting up at all?

I'm going to have to pay attention the the maternity clothes thread more.  I'm in that complete awkward in between phase.  All I want to do is shop for leggings (I was given some really pretty maternity tunic tops) but we're currently broke.  I'm still an emotional mess, so I'm on the verge of a tantrum every time I get dressed.  Ugh.  Anyone have suggestions?  I tried the rubber band and belly band trick with my normal jeans, but everything slides around and I have to adjust all day, its just too much for me to handle.  Last night I saw I beautiful pregnant woman in some gorgeous clothes and I got jealous (WTH?).  I haven't felt that way since high school.  Clearly, I'm a bit of a mess right now with emotions.  My DH asked me this morning if I could not be negative around him, so it must be pretty bad.

I'm off to get out in the sun for some vitamin D, hope all is well with you all!

Off topic but I found a maternity swim suit last night. Motherhood had some decently priced suits and although trying them on was not the least bit fun, I found one that holds up my top half good enough. I'll be sure to get a picture for my belly shot next week so I can show you all. We are traveling all day tomorrow to go back to my hometown and I can't wait!

Purposeful, glad you found a suit...I think buying any swim suit can be a bit grueling but I have found that buying maternity suits is even more so.

Now that my appetite is back I am definitely having strong likes/dislikes. Anything sweet just does not taste good. When we were at the wedding yesterday they had a HUGE cookie table (thousands and thousands of cookies in every variety...so pretty) but, not one of them looked good to me. However in the middle of the table was this big  beautiful display of fruits...all kinds of sliced melons, pineapple, and the most amazing perfect berries I have ever seen. As I was filling my plate all I could think was these plates aren't big enough! I just wish my stomach didn't get so full so quick these days...not fun at a buffet. 

DH is a very experimental cook. Lately he has been sauteing portabella mushrooms, fresh green beans and thin slices of onion then he adds in tumeric, cumin and crushed garlic...yum. I usually add pasta and parmesan to mine. It is my favorite this week. For the last couple of months even the smell of his concoctions have made my stomach turn but now all those strong flavors he uses taste so good! I feel like I can't get enough hot peppers, onions, horseradish....the spicier the better!

Definitely starting to look pregnant now, at 10 weeks tomorrow. I am showing earlier than before. I can still wear my regular clothes, but am finding that I'm gravitating towards stretchy clothes or wrap skirts for comfort.

Having surprise emotions, like where I'm normal and calm and then all of a sudden tearful. In front of my meditation group. For no reason.

I've been making all kinds of different foods, just cereal with fresh fruit is delish to me, but so is Palak Dahl with hot sauce, and caprese salad with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes and basil, and desserts in general like cake (anybody ever make the Strawberry Cake from Martha Stewart? we had our first strawberries in the garden, and this is my favorite to make!). I was at an event last night with buffet style plates of vegan appetizers, made with all kinds of fresh vegetables, and dolmades and hummus. Yum, although I felt like I ate more than every other person there :)

We are leaving for a month long stay in Florida on June 21, and I'm really excited but also can't believe I'm going to be doing this trip pregnant! A 28 hour drive (over 4 days) with two kids, one of whom is 22 months. How many times do you think we'll stop for the bathroom?

I think that 22 month old would be wearing diapers if s/he were mine.  Just sayin'.  I'll bet on 28 stops for the bathroom!  

esp, " I'm still an emotional mess, so I'm on the verge of a tantrum every time I get dressed. " that's me!  I did manage to get dressed this morning but then I had to face packing food for an entire 12 hours away from home.  I really really just wanted to sit down and cry at that point.  I decided that I was going to have to buy at least one meal out, broke or no broke.

Right there with you on being an emotional mess! I go through about 22 different emotions in one morning. Most of which seems to be frustration and annoyance!

 Last night DH wanted to walk to the shops to get some things for tea.. We ended up putting so much in the  trolley that i started crying "I can't carry this home".. DH ran home to get car while i finished up with the shopping... He found me in the flour/cake aisle... Its the only aisle i wasn't gagging! Then i cried at the checkout and told DH it ws his turn to carry the baby!

EMOTINAL MESS!

As far as nausea... I have had to stop writing this two times to be sick  ... I thought I was getting better Booooooo

Mamabeakley - I was thinking of myself when I referred to frequent bathroom breaks :)  My son will most definitely still be in diapers. Maybe I should be too, lol.

Travelmumma - I'm so sorry you are still so sick! I had been doing well for days, then last night SUCKED. But back to 'very mild nausea at times' today, so I'm crossing fingers (12 weeks tomorrow!).

I'm an emotional wreck as well, just a yo-yo. I can't even get near a TV. And I'm reading all of these books for my dissertation, birth related, screaming at the pages at points, and crying at others.

I'm jealous of all of the tomato eaters - I LOVE them, they are one of my favorite foods, and I just can't stomach them right now . We have about 50 tomato plants in the garden, but they are all still quite small (late growing season here). Hoping that by the time they bear fruit I will be able to eat them! I did make a batch of GF chocolate cake donuts tonight - damn sugar cravings lol.

DS3 said to me tonight: Hey mom, will you be in my game? It's easy though, since you are pregnant, you can be the mom who just reads books and makes donuts. (I was reading at the time). So sweet!

Darkblue - I'm so jealous of your tomatoes - here in Portland, our tomatoes have only been out for about 3 weeks and are nowhere near tomato harvesting! 

However, we went to the farmer's market this morning and got some Oregon strawberries, yummy! I just finished eating a bowl with some kefir and a little sugar. I want more, but the berries are gone! That and I'm full. I have that issue where I get full quickly and then hungry fairly soon thereafter!

I can't wear regular clothes. I had to take the plunge and get some maternity clothes. I'm so frustrated with the pants situation though. The low riders to go under your belly are uncomfortable and cut in when I sit and make uterus ache. The high panel ones, work slightly better, but my belly is not big enough to fill them so there is too much stretch part and they fall down constantly! I have one pair of yoga pants that have this stretchy tall waist - not even maternity. That is my favorite thing to wear... I thought I should go to dresses as soon as its warm enough, but I have the thigh rubbing issue so still need some sort of pant like thing under and haven't found anything that will work for that.

I want to try sewing some things, but I haven't had time...

Suggestions from you experienced mamas would be appreciated!

As far as maternity clothes go- I was really lucky and found a mumma selling her old stuff on Gumtree. She lives close by and had about 18 shirts and 5 pairs of pants for $120, and she included her Hypnobabies books and CD too! Very very happy with that bargain!!!

Am very surprised as to how big I have gotten suddenly! I think my little bean had a massive growth spurt saturday night! I went o bed with a little pop, and woke up looking proper pregnant!

Kinda nice, kinda very uncomfortable! Grr no one tells you these things!

Segolillymama, I'm right there with you on the tomatoes. A couple weeks ago I made ravioli with tomato sauce, took one bite, and had to washed the sauce off before I could eat them.

Lulubikes, I think it's pretty common for maternity clothes to fit poorly at this stage of pregnancy. Aside from my omnipresent yoga pants and leggings under dresses, my favorite pants right now are regular non-maternity pants that are a couple sizes bigger than what I usually wear. I lost some weight a while ago and hung onto a couple pairs figuring I'd use them in early pregnancy and again postpartum.

TMI...this week seems to be all about constipation. I feel like $hit(ing). Pair that with the mood swings, and yesterday I actually cried on the toilet. This week I'm rededicating myelf to eating well. With all the MS and food aversions of the last couple months, my diet has come to include the makes-me-feel-gross trifecta of wheat, sugar, and dairy. For weeks all that sounded good was pasta, bread pudding, pancakes, etc. That's got to change. My skin is a wreck for it too :-( I'm really excited for my first 1:1 prenatal appointment tomorrow (they do the very first one as a group class). I can't wait to see LO on the U/S!

Yes, I am finding this to be so frustrating!! When I get hungry I would like to eat a full meal and not worry about it for about 4 hours like in the "old days".  Instead I eat about 1/3 of a meal, feel full and am starving again 2 hours later....I am so tired of eating/preparing/thinking about food and what does or does not sound good. I don't have time to be making something to eat 7x a day!!

I am having the same issue. But it seems like it doesn't matter how much fiber I am eating...my digestion is just so sluggish. It is making me so uncomfortable! Yogurt has been one of my quick snacks and even though I limit it to once per day I think it is still causing trouble.

This is exactly my predicament! I have two friends that gave me bags of maternity clothes last month so while it looks like I have this great wardrobe to pick from I really don't because NOTHING fits right....makes me not want to leave the house just so that I don't have to come up with something to wear!

sunseeker, ooh, where in Florida will you be vacationing? I live in north east Florida and it's just starting to hit that beachy-heat weather.

travelmumma, your clothing and hypnobabies deal sounds amazing! I love hand-me-downs, especially at the right price (or even better, free). 

I'm telling my bosses today, so cross your fingers that it goes well! I feel like I'll be so relieved not to be hiding it anymore. Feeling majorly exhausted though today--I want nothing more than to take a super long nap!

UGH, I'm feeling the same way.  On the weekends I always seem to do better because my DH is here and makes me eat more than I usually eat when I'm alone.  He bought a lot of food this weekend for me, including chicken with mixed vegetables and fried rice Chinese food.  The fried rice freakishly was some weird craving I had.  Really been craving Chinese, don't know what's with that....maybe the ginger?  I always seem to feel better after I eat it.

Have you started to feel a lot better yet?  I'm trying to remember the last four times I did this...exactly when I started to turn the corner.  Yesterday, other than right after I took some vitamins, I felt mostly good.  I was thinking, hmmm...maybe things are getting better...but was so sick again this morning was gagging with nothing in my stomach.  Ugh.

I had been feeling so lousy I took some time off from working out, but started up again this weekend in the afternoon (which seems to be my best time of day).

My diet has been the same....not by choice either, it seems to be the only foods that work with me right now for nausea/vomiting issues.  However, I too have the same digestive issues.  Even more annoying is that I have cramping with it sometimes.  I swing between constipation and things being too loose.  

My DS was sick last night and this morning....vomiting.  I'm so happy that DH was willing to get up and help him, I was so severely nauseous I was going to be sick myself.  I had taken my pills right before bed so I wouldn't throw them up and then got woken up about an hour later by his sickness.  I went in the guest room and wound up getting some sleep, though still dragging this morning.  Intestines acting up like usual.  Sigh. I could still use a really long nap/sleep.  I have a feeling I'm going to conk out early tonight barring this tummy bug going throughout the house which I know may happen.

Sorry if that's too much of a vent!  LOL.  I am trying to stay positive.  Still over two weeks until my first appointment!  Feels like a long wait still!

Won't it be nice in a few more weeks when we have all moved past the MS stage, have more energy, and little tummies that fit properly into maternity clothes? LOL - not that there won't be other things to deal with, but I just keep reminding myself how pleasant my 2nd trimesters have always been!

Today's craving: fresh goat yogurt with a bit of raspberry jam mixed in. Yum.

Segolilly-I live in Highland (I know, I know Utah valley, but we have a nice little crunchy holdout ) I have been an emotional wreck too-I have been weeping at everything. Penny told me that she wants to stay small forever and I started cying and was all like "I want you to stay small forever too!" Then Emmy was like "I don't. I want to be big so I can be a mama" and that made me smile and cry even more, lol

Travelmumma-Awesome bargain mama! I am so sorry you aren't well, and sorry you are craving bacon :(  I have this recipe that I found online ages ago (can't remember from where) for Vegan Bacon that is actually pretty epic. I will post it in the recipes thread for you. And Squee! congrats on the bump mama!!

Lulu-the only preggy jeans that fit are my homemade ones right now, but it has been upper 90s here the past few days so I have been wearing skirts, stretch dresses, etc. Pretty soon our bumps will be mammoth, lol, and we will have no trouble keeping pants up :)

Chica-Good luck mama!! My fingers are crossed xxxxxxxxxxxxx!

Sunseeker-I remember when I was like 8 months pregnant with Henry and we did a cross country road trip (yes we are insane) and I honestly could tell you more about the states via the conditions of their rest stops than anything else, lol.

AFM-Feeling a touch better, but I cannot touch anything with sugar in with a ten foot pole. Ick, It leaves such a gross taste in my mouth. Fruit is fine, and anything savory is a yes please, but sweet? No way. Is anyone else having crazy vivid weird dreams? I always forget this part, lol. My prenatals are k-i-l-l-i-n-g me. But I am almost in the second trimester!! Woot!

DarkBlue- Very vivid dreams here too! In fact last night I was a Vietnamese Buddhist that was blessing a new temple... Where did THAT come from????

Lulu- I understand the "too big/too small" dilemma when it comes to jeans.. However I find that even tho the maternity jeans are a touch too big, they are the only ones that feel good around my bump right now.

So jealous that most of you are heading towards summer!!!!! It is my absolute favourite season! And I won't get it til I am huge and sick of having a big bump! DH says that if Bub hasn't arrived by Christmas, that I am allowed to wear bikinis and he will paint my belly as a big Christmas present.. 

Sego- I am very much with you on the hanging out for second trimester! I hit it on friday... I am hoping it takes away the nausea and the sadness! I want to be happy about this lol! (Which I am!)
